I don't know of any personally but you will most likely be able to find players on sites like this.
Happy to team or help with anything ingame. I'm on the Union server.

Sadly i do not know any. mainly cos..well tbh i think its rude just to ask personal things like tht. however i wouldnt be surpised to find out people who are deaf play this game. great thing about this game is u dont have to have sound to enjoy fighting for power or saving peoples lives.

That's true. I play with the volume down a lot myself, since some powersets are just too noisy (psychic blast, sonic attack to name a few). It does make it a bit tricky to locate glowies sometimes though.

I am not completely deaf but I am what I believe it's now pc to call 'hearing impaired.' It basically means there are several 'notes' in speech and everyday sounds that I no longer hear at all, so everything I do hear is distorted rather than at a lower volume. Means, among other things, that I miss /tells a lot of the time because for me the 'ding' for a tell gets masked by other in-game sounds if they're going off at the same time - even little ones, like auras firing up (or that blimmin' Science Vendor playing with his lightsabre thingy!) Sometimes people get replies from me to /tells they probably sent half an hour ago, 'cause I've only just seen them in my Chat window. They probably think I'm just old and slow (Well... I am, but that's another story... 
) But none of those little problems have ever stopped me playing the game - I love it too much. 
In fact, the ability to use Chat channels makes it much easier to know what people are saying in-game than in real life (where I have, all too often, resorted to merely nodding my head 'meaningfully' and going "Yeah..." rather than ask someone to repeat what they just said for the third time... ) I do lip-read, but, as anyone with hearing difficulties knows, even that can be scuppered by the silliest things - people who don't move their lips much when they talk, people with beards/moustaches, etc.

thanks for welcome, glad to know that i not only one with little diffults like hearing where glowy thingy in mish to find them.
i love the game alot that i play on nighttime when my kids are in bed. i am on union server my main char is bambiz
I wonder if it's possible for them to add a "visual glowie" to the game? Like a little light beside the health and XP bar that pulses and grows bigger when you get closer to a glowie?

oo tht would be a nice thing actually. might not be as easy as 1 2 3 but cant be tht hard. and rewards well.

About 2 years ago i teamed alot with a friend who was close to deaf. (1 side deaf, other side the highest hearing device).
Although it wasnt (and prob still isnt) allowed, we used blinkie to help him find the glowies. It basicly was a program that too a short demo-record and parsed the data into a X/Y sheet for u to easier navigate to the glowie.
Most missions were perfect doable, such as open maps, but often office maps were a plain nightmare (no wait, cave mission was) to find a last glowie.

oh tell me about it the cave mish does my head in lol but yeh it takes ages to find them as something so simple could take into hours cos you cannot find one last thing lol
I have decided that Huge toons and caves aren't a good mix. And I never knew there was a tone for glowies. I'm not deaf, but guess I don't have the sound on high enough.

Thats the best suggestion I have ever seen. Implement it, advertise it.
i have always bin in favor to have a green glowing border around the object, still am.
Or, if it was too complex to add the light indicator, perhaps they could make a text propmt like you get for the sk/mentor range, so you'd get one text bubble telling you were near to the glowie, then antother saying you were very close to it.
The propmt could be enabled/disable via the options menu.

If force-feedback technology was added to the game, Deaf players could feel when they were getting close to the Glowie - as well as 'feeling every Freem™', punches, kicks, zombie vomit and assassination swipe in the game.

I have to turn the sound up to find a glowie. In one ear I am partially deaf whilst the other one is actually alright. Being in a mission for too long looking for something makes me feel ill too, it's a lot like getting travel sickness. As far as I am concerned they should have massive arrows pointing to them as an option.

I'm not deaf, but my parents and brother are. That's why I'm sensible about this matter and I think that suggestions for visual equivalences -selectable by players- for sound things like glowies [maybe a glowing little dot with variable intensity] or /tells would be great. Really /signed.
got another idea, have the character do a search animation when you're close, keeps the game fun for the non-deaf.
i would like to say to shannon, i am the same when doing misson too long i feel awfull like i am having motion sickness from travelling and yet i not .. it strange how it works lol
