You keep missing the point, its not getting it, its getting people to drop it off, then having people steal it.

Seems the Devs should have really done an update on the permissions system before doing this, i mean now most actively recruiting SGs will have to make the permissions a little over the top. personally i'm considering not bothering with salvage racks (except for the personal salvage vault) in our new base until a new permission system is implemented

I decided to plan ahead and i spent today crafting a large variety of items for the new base so i can avoid crafting with invention salvage for as long as possible, now if you'll excuse me i'll go back to trying to figure out what other themed rooms to put into our new 24x24 plot :P

its been my experience that most people sell the realy expensive salvage for the inf as its rare you actuly need it unless your building something very spasific in your toon

As soon as they increase the base storage, which they no doubt will before they introduce a decent access permission system, then lots of 250 inf's (minimum) all add up and there will start to be mass thefts of salvage from bases.

Of course i might be wrong and maybe this 30 limit is their idea to stop thefts happening but i doubt it. And if it is, it's a useless idea anyway because it's just another bit of hard work for anyone making a base, as you will no longer have a central store big enough to be useful.

The whole thing is just cack handed, what would be nice would be a comment explaining the reasons behind this. And god forbit just for once say what they do intend to do for bases rather than the usual, it's big and it's coming soon rubbish.

You dont run a SG GG, you run a 1 woman band, so you dont know how hard it was to get a lot of people into the idea of dropping base salvage off on a regular basis. Now thanks to these changes it's start over time and getting people to drop off what they normally sell will be hard.

Then when you do get them to drop it off, where they supposed to put it? Why should people have to have a base full of salvage racks just to have enough storage to make a few base items.

Which leads back to the devs increasing it from 30 to something sensible, and then the thefts will start.

Now im repeating myself, if you still cant understand the points im trying to make i give up.

In regards to Londoneer's post..
I agree.

Our current system is very sg friendly. You can drop the base salvage into a container that can hold A..LOT!
The base salvage was useless to any player, but could be used to create base items. So, people would simply drop them into the containers and base would flourish.

Now with the new invention system (why.. o why Devs... what made you want to change a system THAT WORKS!)
everyone will use invention salvage. People will continue to sell it, one cannot hold enough pieces for much in the future... so meh..

Had the Devs atleast made the max storage more then 30.
AND
Added more choices on who can do WHAT, who can take things from the storage etc... theft, if that is the issue... would be lessened.

The upkeep is VERY ok, the discount is VERY good. And gives me a belief that we will have functional base raids in either i-14 or i-15.
But still... im going to miss the old base salvage.

One thing that bugs me is that the developers haven't responded at all to the feedback about this. The issue of where people will store all the event salvage is still unresolved. My halloween salvage and candy canes alone would take up over 19 salvage racks with the new limits - and that's more than what a base can support (max is 18 and that includes storage for inspirations and enhancements as well).

If there is no refund... how will they go and do the ranking system? It is based on prestige. And if the SG is not rebuilding the base that prestige will be locked away not counting anywhere.

Then again.. I cant see the biggest SG's taking down their complete base over this. That will be months of work.

The amount of prestige earned wont change, it's just the amount you have to spend that will go up if you can be arsed to destroy ya base.

So the rankings will be the same.

as happy as i am that they seem to be finaly addressing the base and salvage issues i find myself anoyed because the eu hasnt been included in this survey there is only a few of us able to cross post on both eu and us forums so where do the eu gamers get to have there say in responce to those questions

...and then a really good base upgrade is realased in Issue 27 where the game is free to play, there's only one dev, no more support staff, and a peak time of 2 players.
