Changes to Kheldians in I13
Got my Warshade to 50 the other night. Loved him from level 1 to the end, still love him enough to start working on IOing/HOing him up to as ridiculous levels as possible.
I just wish they'd make it so you don't stop shifting forms if you get mezzed in the middle of the shifting animation.
[ QUOTE ]
It's to do with being unable to detoggle when powers are queued, so can't drop out of forms until your power queue is cleared. Stops you double miring or double footstomp, and tends to slow down fast shifting in combat, but it's not TOO bad.

It's slightly annoying alright, but I rejigged my keybinds slightly to deal with it so specific keys always mean "Shift into this form and change the active power bar", so if it does happen pressing the key again generally fixes it. Oddly it seems to affect me when I'm in Nova form and dropping out for a Hold & Stygian Circle combo than when I'm in Dwarf.
The changes to Human form damage and how quickly Dwarf Mire recharges now make double mired nukes & Unchained Essences so much fun now.
I slightly miss my 30 seconds of double-mired Nova goodness but Dwarf is so much more fun now it's more than compensation. It's not like Nova forms damage is weak or anything.
And I got Eclipse over the weekend. Good god, its unholy. Eclipse + Inherent bonuses from team in Nova form FTW!!

Something I have found VERY fun is the newly available triple mired nuke!
Human Mire, Switch to Dwarf, Mire, get aggro so everything is nice and close, Mire again (Assuming massive global recharge of course), Quasar!
Works best running ahead of 8 man teams so the spawn survives for the 10 seconds it takes to hit Quasar. And is great on the Cimerora wall watching the corpses go flying over the edge

Played my PB for the first time yesterday after the I13 changes on a ITF.
after 5 minutes in youre starting to hear stuff like "bad PB, I'm the tank" "I wish I was in Badges clothes right now.." and "I better start leveling my PB..."
people complain about scrapper lock.. I get PB lock..
still uber

With a team of Scrappers/Blasters you can almost Tank in Nova Form

[/ QUOTE ]Edited for clarity
Yeah, with a team of defenders/tankers you could tank with anything, or have no need to tank at all as a WS!
Well now that the inherent actually makes some sense and the ability to dwarf out of mez, dwarf is now a great form.
It can actually do some damage. PB still seems a little better for tanking but the change to ws dwarf mire makes it a little better for psuedo tanking.
In my experience when tanking now you can use the dwarf for alpha and now it isnt always instant death to flip form to something else as if you are mezzed just switch back to dwarf.
Its just a pity the devs couldnt have used the same approach they applied to khelds to the pvp revamp. Ie - listening to player feedback then applying common sense and testing it properly.
Give Essence Drain and Black Dwarf Drain the Siphon Life treatment (double damage, minus one-third recharge).
Frontload Sunless Mire and Black Dwarf Mire.
Give Black Dwarf Mire a Gauntlet effect like White Dwarf Flare has.
Fix Respites so they heal based on total maxHP, not base maxHP (easier said than done, I'm guessing).
Make the Warshade inherent work like the Peacebringer inherent.
Make Nebulous Form's +jump values not suck horribly.
Turn the Knockback values on Peacebringer human form melee attacks into Knockdown.
Increase the range of Glowing Touch; rename as appropriate, if thought necessary after a range buff.
Drop the -ToHit debuff on Group Energy Flight.
Increase the TP magnitude on Starless Step - it's in a freaking Primary powerset, it shouldn't suck as horribly as Teleport Foe already does.
That'd make Khelds close to perfection in my eyes, though they're pretty boss right now as they are. I love my Warshade so very much.
On that note, maybe lose the form-blocking of Light Form and increase the mag of Pulsar from 2 to 3. It might tread on Warshades' toes a little bit, but looking upwards at the other buffs I suggested, I think I'm probably biased in favor of Shades anyway.

Nooooooooooooo!
With them working in forms now I quite like it for Warshades now I find. On a team of Tanks and Defenders you can float about in Nova throwing out attacks and having a nice bit of Resistance, on a team of Scrapper and Blasters you can be Mr Tank but still be throwing out alright damage. Sure PBs probably benefit more from their version which helps them, but Warshades have all those mired AOE attacks and pets.
Making the Siphon Life clones work like the scrapper versions might be OTT too, Dark Melee doesn't have much in the way of AOE and didn't have quick animating heavy hitter, Warshades have great AOE which they can double miring and the excellent changes to Gravity thingy (the hold one).
Frontloading the mires would be nice for soloing, big time (does the scrapper version front-load now?) and the Taunt in Dwarf Mire a big yes to.

[/ QUOTE ] As I mentioned, this was purely my personal opinion - I consider the PB inherent better because it allows you to make up for your team's weaknesses, as opposed to improving upon what your team is already strong at, which is what I feel fits Kheldians better.

Oh all of these is purely my two cents too, but I'm just of the opinion that PBs, especially later on, could do with an inherent which is a bit stronger on teams compared to Warshades simply because WSs are so powerful from the 30s onwards, especially on teams with lots of mobs to fuel their Floaty Purple Fortress of Death modes, PBs could do with a bit of an edge which makes them integrate into the team better. WS's just rain AOE death instead

Actually leave Warshades alone altogether now as they are beyond fine. The only thing I could possibly ask for is a reduced end cost for the dwarf form attacks (Particularly the heal) but that would probably become overpowered as the only thing stopping me soloing pylons is endurance.
PB's could use the KB being changed to KD, if only so people no longer hate teaming with them.

[/ QUOTE ]Agreed that they're beyond fine, although everything besides the Inherent change that I listed was a straight buff.
One thing I agree with above all else mentioned here, is Knockback should be Knockdawn
Just seems crazy to make PB so team dependant to get the best out of it, and give one of its' best powers (IMO) horrendous KB (Solar Flare) making PBs almost universally hated in teams.
Well overstating a bit maybe but ya get my drift.
Was teaming with a PB recently who LED every attack into mobs with this, no matter how many times I asked him to at least wait till I had applied holds (playing with plant troller)
Not only was it annoying, I reckon in his career he's damaged the cause of PBs endlessly!
Please devs, pretty please, no matter how much we love you for recent Kheld changes, do this one last thing for us and we'll love you for ever and will offer you our first born
Currently mostly playing:
Indiana Ford: PB, Lady Izza Tramp: Ice/Ice Tank, Stanley Orange: PB, Pu Wu Rad, Storm Troller.
Tao Te Tzu, Stalker.
Many nukes due KB. If your Solar Flare isn't going to do enough damage to one shot most of the spawn, then you shouldn't be using it anyway.
A PB isn't a blaster. If you play them (human form) as a blapper, they do fine.
Don't blame the powerset for poor playing.
Edit: Thought you where talking about Dawn Strike. Solar Flare? I didn't think anyone took that. It's a rubbish power, you can't use it in the air, and the damage sucks. About the only reason to take it is because the knockback is useful when soloing. Make it knockdown and it wouldn't even be good for that.
I really should do something about this signature.
It looks like Foot Stomp, hence it's cool. Granted, that doesn't make it suck much less. At least it'd make it less of a headache for team members when a wild and crazy "omg my first kheldian ever" Peacebringer spams it in the middle of spawns, scattering everything to the four winds.
Ever since Khelds randomly started escalating in popularity (at least on Union; probably due to the Kheld buff and the recent double XP giving people a chance to unlock them easily?) I've noticed that a lot of people play human PBs and will, indeed, take and use Solar Flare.
The knockback isn't that bad. If you're in a team then the odds are that you'll get a damage buff from somewhere so alot of the time anything you hit is going to go down in fairly short order unless it's an armoured Rikti.
Alot of the PB's knockback can be managed simply by positioning and pretty much any midsized piece of scenery can act as a backstop.
Edit: Solar Flare is great for finishing off mobs you've just AoE blasted in Nova Form and the double Flare trick still works, just not as fast as it used too.
Just my opinion but, it seems a waste to keep a PB in human form when Nova and Dwarf have so much to offer. Maybe it's because I chose the Tri-Form route from the start and I'll usually swap form 3-4 times in the process of a regular fight.
Since reaching L40 my only powers problem has been Light Form. I've only used it once in the last two levels and I'm left wondering if it's worth keeping as Dwarf seems more than capable of providing me with equal protection (I don't have any shield toggles) without the nasty crash or locking me into one form for the duration.
I love Light Form, use it far more than dwarf, since I can keep dishing out the damage with it on. And once you realise that debt is meaningless you can recover from the crash as quickly as you like by simply being defeated and self rezing.
I really should do something about this signature.
IT's not worry about debt, it's simply that, as a Tri-Form, my PB only has six human form attacks (including Flare and Photon Seekers). Even with Hasten they don't make a complete chain so in melee I tend to flit between Human and Dwarf (I do have the Dwarf attacks well slotted) while the likes of Radiant and Incandescent Strike are recharging.
That's a drawback of going triform. I'm just Human/Dwarf, so I have sufficent powers. I'm also a bit spoiled by having shedloads of +recharge from sets.
I really should do something about this signature.
I couldn't imagine doing anything put Tri-form; like Knight said, I'm chopping and changing forms fairly often. Stealing my dwarf or nova away would be bad
I can't really use nova form, I find it makes me nauseous. It's dull just blasting stuff anyway.
I really should do something about this signature.
Kheldians are probably best played around controllers. Controller powers can probably give the enemies enough knockback protection. Kins with Repel or Sonics with Repulsion see things the other way.

Well since i deleted my last WS at 42 I made another prior to i13. Left it parked at 24.
Been a total blast. Overall play experience is hugely improved. I must concede that human form mez prot is fine.
And now the inherent finally works
