Aye, the reason I dont have a DM brute is the long wait for nothing at 32
[/ QUOTE ]
DM gets a huge buff in i13.
MG is worth taking in i13 and Siphon life gets its damg doubled, making it a very nice attack.
MG is basically turned into Headsplitter with a DoT, and SL gets one third recharge chopped off and damage boosted from 'lame' to 'Superior'. Sweet.

Can you link to the source of this statement? as much as I'd love to see it, I am afraid I haven't seen anything about it so I'm curious.

MG's damage on a brute is bad enough that even with the buff coming in it still doesn't compare to the AoE sets ST attacks well.
The siphon life might be nice for a brute but getting all the good powers early puts me off progression.

[/ QUOTE ]Total damage on a Brute? Brutes deal the most damage out of the 4 melee Archetypes.
The total damage dealt was buffed as well. While still dealing less damage, It recharges faster than Seismic Smash or Total Focus (and much faster than Knockout Blow), when comparing to the heavy hitters in the Big Three (but, they're the Big Three...), leaving aside Energy Transfer because it's an outlier. It also costs a lot less endurance. Most Dark Melee Brutes aim for high recharge bonuses as it is, so MG, when spammed often, will do good damage, if still lack the SMASH feel to it. Also, Soul Drain and Fury. I have no idea why you'd say Brutes deal low damage with anything.
Brutes dont deal low damage, Midnight Grasp on brutes does. On a scrapper its about the highest damage ST attack (at least will be) on a brute it falls in behind the big 3 and fire melee too. As a level 32 power its poor. On my scrapper going forward it would be lovely but I have no idea why its damage on a brute doesn't reflect the mark up it gets on a scrapper to the other powers. I guess cause if it was good already then the buff we're about to get will make it over powered.
I love my brutes, they are amazing damage, and a DM brute is good DPS using the whole chain, but its not cause of MG its cause of the other attacks.

Oh the Siphon Life buff is great... and the Soul Drain one is awesome.
Still, MG on a Brute is a no.
Does that make Celestine's build better? The SL buff?

Well, you shouldn't be worried about lowering your DPS drastically anymore, I mean double damage, not that it was huge before, but it's pure negative damage, gonna try install the US Test server and find out a little bit more about it.
Edit: Well, check this and judge for yourself
OH MY GOD. Recharge time reduced, heal stays the same, Damage is up. Along with the changes to EA this could make my DM/EA a pretty hardcore fighting machine!
P.S. Agree about midnight Grasp. If it was just all up frotn damage I'd agree but it's also DoT. If they completely front loaded the damage and left the immob I'd be happy with that.

I'm starting to worry that Smite wont get much of a look in on my scrapper now, and all those slots wasted on it.

Smite is great to deliver last blow and finish a fight so I wouldn't worry about it, but maybe now it's more interesting in your build to slot Touch of Death in Smite and Mako's Bite on Siphon Life...
Both are 6 slotted at the moment so I guess it wouldn't take much to move them around. I'll have 3 decent all Neg En attacks then and the awesomness of Shadow Maul.
Whats happened to Soul Drain btw?

Soul Drain was basically given a "first target bonus" much like Invincibility has. Per target used to net you +15.625% dmg / +5% tohit, not it grants +10% dmg / +2% tohit in addition to a one time +50% dmg / +10% tohit. (The screen doesn't explicitly say this, but it's the only logical way i can interpret it.) It scales like this
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm I normally got the full boost anyway but will be handy for those AV fights (Celestine's been pretty much team only since I had the BS/SR and Claw/WP, he doesn't solo as well)

Hmmm I think now Celestine should solo fine tbh and even better after I13 hits live.
But probably not as well as Cashmere, the stacking of Followup makes me run from group to group like a brute not wanting downtime in the slightest, but I sometimes wait for Soul Drain to recharge if its nearly done so I have it at the start of a fight.
Being able to reliably 1 hit a ltnt is Prise's only benefit.
On a team Celestine is better cause of that big boost from Soul Drain and his general ability to nulify tough mobs with fear.
I think the changes might push Celestine in front of Prise though, but as all three are concept toons I dont mind.

Had a though over this and came up with a Perma-Elude but on a budget build, kept the I13 changes in mind while putting together.

Planning to respec into it by mid 40s, any thoughts?
I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.
Union EU player! Pip pip, tally ho, top hats and tea etc etc
Can't check until I get home this evening, but I'd honestly just slot Tough with the Steadfast +3% prot in base slot and leave it untoggled, can't say the 15ish% smashing/lethal resistance ever made a difference tbh.
The order of the power selections strikes a bit weird, I'd make sure not to exemp down later and I'd definitey take Shadow Maul instead of Midnight Grasp for some AoE.-
Indeed quickness is one of them necessary things, I think i'd rather be the nasty AoE brute anyways ^_^
[ QUOTE ]
I certainly wouldn't do that, the tentacles should be helpful to keep yoiur foes immobilized so you can jump in and cast a nice Soul Drain to start bashing them at full damage buff.
Quickness imo is basic to boost your DPS and will make you build fury faster.
You can either have a lot of attacks and skip useful powers... or cycle the ones you have as fast as possible.
[/ QUOTE ]
Cycling attacks will be the way forwards I agree. Was easy enough to time attacks and build a suitable attack chain in WoW, it'll work here ^_^ thanks for your comments guys.
