Might be easier to get some level 30 FFA's in the Arena if you want to limit it to Scrappers and Brutes (Tanks?).
So basically you want to lock a zone out to anyone that's not a Scrapper or Brute, two ATs that are very capable of taking part in pvp to start with. I know there's plenty say that they are at a disadvantage in pvp but sorry thats not my experience. They can close from outside most sqishies targetting range with SS/Quickness and two shot you before you can get a power to activate in response.
I'm sorry but this gets a very big thumbs down from me - if you want a scrapper/brute pvp match try the arena

I was just thinking this, a big Scrapper vs Brute rumble, but for the Arena. If everyone's up for it I'll sign up with my Brute.

Cool, looks like we got a few interested and i like the idea of other ats aswell, reason for saying these 2 ats btw,was because they are fairly close in balance,same base resist and def one has fury one has crits,and also the arena sounds cool too,ill try and keepp the thread on top for another week or so and then maybe we make a date,so to speak lol

Yes melee gets pwned by ranged. After a fair amount of pvp experience I have finally decided to only lvl ranged toons from now on. Just to compete.
I like my brute, and it can be fun to play in zonal but as soon as a fire/em blaster zones in I usually log out. Not very fun getting 2 shotted on a brute.

iirc 20 secs downtime is max (tho im sure somebody'll correct me)

I had 20sec downtime on it with 2x SB on me, which was only 270% rech. So might be able to get more out of it . Unless 20secs is the limit ofc
this is only an idea and im hoping some one with better organissation skills would make this more than an idea.
idea is simple,,one night in the future sirens call gets invaded by only scrappers and brutes no healers no buffers no stalkers no mm only brutes and scrappers.
of coarse we would get the plonkers that wont want to play fair and turn up on a stalker or blaster, but the idea is sound IMO, What do you all think?
