Force Herding Idea?

Had an idea while making my /Forcefield troller.

Herding is nothing like it used to be.. however i was wondering on the likes of the demon / family map would it be possible to use ForceBubble to herd all the mobs up into the far corner, if you made Grav / FF you could also wormhole mobs into the corner that get missed.... could you not force 1 whole side of the map into the corner and wipe them all out with Aoe's before running down the other side??

Defense would be a must to avoid being killed... so a herding troller would need,

Dispersion Bubble
Maneuvers
Tough, Weave
Combat jumping
Frozen armour

all slotted for defense.. would this be viable or am i barking up the wrong tree.. ?

=D

Once you have them all herded up nicely, how do u propose to kill them?

btw I herd the deamon map on a fire/rad troller and I find 5 man spwans takin 2 mobs at a time to be the best way for those sets. Would be interested to see if u can make this work tho?

i usually dual log, so this would be along with my Fire/kin, or any blaster with a descent nuke would do it.

May take some getting used to but i dont think it would be out the realms of possibility.

Not really, no.

It would be impossible seeing there's no way the mobs would actually be able to fit around Force Bubble.

Second you would die horribly and repeatedly trying to do this singlehandedly.

Third, even if you miraculously actually managed to pull it off it would take you A LOT longer than just actuallly killing mobs as you go.

Fourth, as others have pointed out...you can't just miraculously kill them all in one go because of AoE caps.

While playing a Grav/Rad Controller a while back I tried something similar.
I went into Perez, (the controller was about L20 at the time so no chance of dieing) and dropped toggles onto various groups then ran around Perez to see how many I could amass.
The problem was that they didn't remain aggroed so after a while as many drifted away as joined.

So I would say no you cant do it!
If you could maintain the aggro, even with all of that defence I think that you'll die long before you get a reasonable sized mob herded.

L50s: Tanks: Cryofission - Ice/EM - Dr Celsius - Fire/Ice - Saint George - SD/SS | Controllers: Psichosis - Ill/Kin - Major Chaos - Ill/Stm | Scrappers - Neutron Crusader - DM/SR

Currently Levelling: Angelic Blade - BS/WP Scrapper | Seeds of Destruction - Plant/Kin Controller

I wasnt looking at using agro Psiphon, forcebubble id a 50ft repel.

I was going to force them all into 1 corner. not ask them to follow me.

OK

I've not used Forcebubble wont they just flow around the sides?
Sounds like hard work!

I'll be interested in watching if you do it.

Usually they would, but i dont imagine the width of the streets in that map would be greater than 50ft. So it shouldnt be that much of an issue, map takes about 7ish minutes to run so if i can batter that its a bonus. Think tho if it does work how fast you could do a 6 man team...

Nuke wouldnt be able to kill all because of AoE cap. Maybe a fire/mental would do better with fire ball and psy shockwave. Or a fire/kin ofc

Also do-able is taking a pocket ice/ or fire/ blaster with their rain along. Preferably ice for blizzard.

Rains do have the AoE cap but the check for targets every hit which makes it seem like they don't. Blizzard can kill more than other nukes if lucky though cause as they die it will not check them and check others instead

Storm is better for herding.
I herd with my Earth/storm on the demon map with just hurricane/SS to a nice corner then its just quicksand and the AoE's of mass destruction.
Takes me about 8 mins to clear a map.

thats not very similar at all!

Toggle agro is fun, a friends Dark defender is evil with it, the -acc one is the best, rads can do it the same, I know my Earth/Rad herds this way, but forcebubble herding is different to extremes

It just will not work, even with 30-40% Def they can still take you out in just a few hits. I have a FF/Dark Def and even with the Great Def i have (Bonus + Manauvers), if i toggle on Force Bubble i will alot of aggro and have to keep a close eye on my health and get ready to use Life Drain.

I just dont think it's a good idea, prove me wrong? But i doubt it, not anything that is worth the time and effort.

Aye, toggle aggro is more like AOE pulling than herding. The main difference being you can scoot around a corner out of LOS and avoid being attacked altogether, unlike herding where you soak up the damage and aggro.

As Miyavi says it'd be pretty hard to be able to soak up all that aggro with a squishy while you were pushing and corralling them.
