I have it on my Blaster but TBH if she wasn't 50 I might well re-roll with something more powerful. /Dev isn't exactly Über and because I went Nrg/Dev with the old defiance her intended role is no longer there. However I love having near perfect stealth, she is nearly a ranged heroic stalker.

I think it needs to be altered to match other tier 9 pets. it is a very nice thing having floating behind you, but it won't go up lifts and explodes after a couple of minutes. If it was made to last longer or even permanent till destroyed it would be a lot more useful. saying that, it is still far better than auto turret. Maybe give it better damage along the lines of other tier 9 pets. As it stands, when you get it, it is a bit underwhelming. Other blasters get nova, we get a 2 minute floating pet.
It's a blaster pet, not a controller pet. It's not meant to be as good.

Nova is a primary power. So lets compare Auto Turret to Energy Transfer...Well drone is weaker but then the drone is something that can for you, take and resist some attention.
And Auto Turret is now arguably better than Frozen Aura and Hot Feet, so it's pretty much in the middle of Blaster secondaries Tier 9

Not tried those two. I am so used to Enforcer being an AR/dev blaster that it was a bit of a shock to find that gun drone was a lot more useful now. I keep forgetting that its the secondary pool
how wonderful, after the new patch my gun drone stopped attacking completely, it only started firing after it took aoe damage and afterwards nada again...
I was happily surprised to see that Auto turret had been changed to gundrone, but it's still pretty useless...
Shame it couldnt be buffed damage wise to make up for lack of buildup etc, most Dev powers lack damage so it'd be nice if the final power in the set really made the wait worth while.

Not tried it. I specced the auto turret out of Calamity's build, it was pretty useless. Took *ages* to set up during which a sparrow farting in the field next door interrupted you. It stayed where it was, did hardly any damage, couldn't take any damage and only lasted a short while. I'll give it a try on test but unless a significant number of those drawbacks have been resolved, I'm not wasting an hour respeccing for it...
I logged in with Lead Hose for a couple of missions last night. She already had the auto turret and mainly used it when soloing to distract anything that got too close (as others have mentioned it's range is poor, certainly less than most of Lead's AR powers).
The Good: It's now more useful both solo and in groups as it follows along rather than being left being after one encounter.
The Bad: The summon animation now doesnt make sense - change it for the MM Robots animation. It's also very long. I don't mind it being interruptable and costing and arm and a leg in endurance, but especially in groups you end up always falling behind.
The Ugly: It's ugly. I want something more like the Tau Heavy Gun Drone from WH40K.

The gun drone is my cannon fodder.
I use it to take the first wave of attacks while I establish control with my control powers. It has all the survivability of another blaster, all the secondary effects are on it rather than me, it gets hurt, I don't as I lock foes down and its still may survive for another group.
I can now set it up away from mobs so and then bring it to them rather than mobs to it. (If I set up near mobs I could get aoe stunned as it opened fire and I was still rooted.)
My survivability has increased and I can play at a faster pace with the extra damage over time flowing from one group to another.
Not everyone will be happy, I get the impression some people will never be happy until they can go into a restaurant and be paid to eat a meal.

I can rip through mobs now by setting up cross fire between me and my ugly, rusty chum! Only thing I'd change is it's lack of aggression and give it caterpillar tracks instead of jets
