From what i can gather it's the hero version of domination but instead of more damage it gives you a better hold which works well with containment

According to the test notes (not looked in the patch notes) it is a visual indication of when you get a critical hold/immobilize/stun/etc.
Yeah, that's right, basically you always had a chance to pop a higher Mag Hold (20% chance AFAIK) now you just get a notification. I'm sure everyone's seen how sometimes you can hold a boss first time, other times it takes two ttempts? That's the higher mag hold popping up sometimes.

I didn't aware that we are doing that much critical holds. On my Fire/TA i had many "Overpower" floating over villians head.
That's right, it's just a visual message of when your mezzes crit (20% chance per mob hit, extra mag 1), but nothing has changed. So no, it shouldn't appear more often on fire/kins than others

Ya got to admit though it sure feels good, seing it pop up so much, feels just like when my dom used to hit domination and get her message spamming on mobs so everyone knew what she was upto..

No this is a controller thing only.
It feels brilliant. Especially if you're firing of AoE's constantly.
The new phase/dimension shift/detention field/sonic cage announcements are brilliant.

I was slightly bewildered by the "Overpower" message, so cheers for the info gang.
Ok seems nobody else wants to come here and ask, so umm whats the Overpower message I keep seeing so often now on my troller?
Is it a way for game to make us little trollers feel like were usefull at low level, while we watch rest team 1 shot mobs we take all day with, untill we level up and gain abilitys :P
