CGAnimation-CoX Promo...Be The Hero/Villain!
Wow. That's it, my comment and thoughts
"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"
Thanks Cynic
...Sapphic Neko you may have detected his fatal weakness ....muffins?
Oh Wow!,
Now,.. I recognise a labour of love when I see one!, and that was something quite special!.
I loved it, the scene direction especially I thought was exceptional - Great Work London Ranger!.
*stares*
...
several hours later
*dribbles*
Wow!
Man, I gotta get on your good side! Or absorb your brain or something.
*dribbles some more*
Wow!

But enough of that! - that was very good. It caught the excitement of the superhero genre and reaffirmed to me why I play this game.
Any chance of doing a fight sequence involving Arctic Princess and a villain I know called Ramguard? PM me if interested.
Pretty freaking awesome! Definitely a lot of work put into this.
Needs more motion capture though, cause that kick was really nice!
That was awesome - I've started out learning still CD artwork - not going to try animating for ages yet
@Golden Girl
City of Heroes comics and artwork
Awsome stuff! So whens the movie coming out?
I wonder if Awesomeness is absorbable.
Catz
Thanks guys, really appreciate the compliments
I only get to play with these things in my spare time so I had to be pragmatic about the animated clips I rendered out of Poser. There are a fair few sections where annoying rendering artifacts show up, and some speed issues here and there but I realised - if I got too precious about everything, I'd still be re-rendering some things even now, and I was far too impatient to see how everything would look stitched together so I just used what I had, and got on with it.
Amusingly enough I only realised I'd forgotten to attach part of the costume for one of my own alts after a longish render, and really didn't wanna re-do it (not telling which alt!)
So, I won't pretend its perfect but I'm pretty happy how it turned out
@Arctic Princess & Mother's Love - you've pretty much nailed what I was hoping to do; catch a little of the excitement the game offers in allowing you to be a 'Super'
The spiel was actually going to be a bit longer, (from "Invincible", to "Defend the innocent?...Dominate the weak?") giving me an opportunity to go to town a bit more on the powers side (so much potential fun there), but it would have overrun.
Early on I chose the music and used that to set the length of the whole thing - ensuring I'd have to be short and to the point.
@Swissy - MoCap was such a timesaver where I could use it, I had to do some judicious cutting and splicing of Mocaps wherever possible
though, as I couldn't find huge variety in the stuff freely available on the net unfortunately, hence some movement inconsistencies - but yeah, when it works MoCap can really rock!
Arctic Princess I'll have to get back to you on that request - I'm all animated out at the mo
(Although I am kinda intrigued-post some screenies/links with the toons in question so I can see who we're talking about - no promises mind )
It's cool. Imagine what it would like using the Sony special effets softwarez made for spiderman though.... That would be sex.
That's amazing...
awesome vid very well done
W00t! Redname post
Thanks for all the comments folks
That was so cool...

First post after a dev, the sexy, intelligent and miraculous War Witch.
Nothing could make me feel happier on this moment.

Anyways, FANTASTIC vid! That looks like a horrible amount of effort to do, and it's amazing! You don't see many of these vids nowadays!
*stunned silence*
War Witch stopped by?
Awesome!
Don't be too surprised, they're probably eMailing it round the office as we speak. It was that good.
As ever Ranger, love your work.
It takes Chaos to move the world to Action.
Woah! Awesome!
Very well done indeed LR! That was really impressive. I can't even get someone to stand up straight in Poser
Edit: I think they're doing more than e-mailing it round the office though! Linky!

Its like we are witnessing someone evolve beyond what most people do in seeing what you do.
I love where your going. Keep up the great work.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
Just adding another approval here.
Great work! Moar plx

Thanks for all the comments folks, really glad you all seem to have enjoyed the vid
And same to those folks who have looked in from US Boards
It is sterling work. You have a great cinematic eye. And I'll be honest, it looks more polished than my own animation, but I guess that's the advantage of CG.

I'm always marvelling at the player-made vids made with demo-edit. Tried it - couldn't get my head around it
Been playing around with the animator in Poser again for the last few weeks and had some fun messing about with some of the CG models I made for my comic. As I mentioned in Infurnus's thread I pulled together a few short clips to make a sort of CoX Promo for a bit of a laugh and to see how far I could stretch the tools
Lol! Got so carried away lost sight of the original idea and had to edit things down
Quite surprising what you can manage with a bit of music and Adobe Premiere to stitch it all together.
Be The Hero/Be the Villain! viewable online in a really rubbish resolution...
or if you're on broadband just download the Quicktime file here (91Mb) to watch properly
