I have one villain and she is a stalker. I really couldnt live without AS/Placate. I know this is not the only way to play stalker, but imo it is the most effective way. At lvl 20 I only have access to 4 attack powers aside from AS and they just seem so weak compared to hero AT's I have played. I have a lvl 20 dark scrapper who can pummel a yellow minion into the ground within 30secs - the stalker fighting without AS takes over a minute with great risk to health.

Nothing mad about having 2 lvl 50 stalkers i have 2 as well and i like um, as to no AS doubt i would build one with out it but good luck with it Miss will look out for you in RV when you at that lvl and see how you get on.
Well, time will tell if it was a good idea or not. Good luck anyways, I hope you will have fun playing it. Advice: maybe tp is better for escaping? Not sure.
As has already been said, 'tis perfectly doable for Energy Melee.
In fact, it probably won't hurt your damage output at all.
Just don't drop Placate, and for Heaven's sake slot your attacks well. Since EM has high recharge times you'll want a healthy amount of Recharge and EndRed slotted in addition to the usual Accuracy/Damage.
Critical Bonesmasher from Hide is almost as good as an AS. Energy Transfer and Total Focus to follow up.

Solo I basically have no need for AS unless I'm fighting a reasonably high Boss or EB, and in Teams it's pretty much just EB and AV's where it's needed.
That's not to say that AS isn't worth it on EM, just that it's not as needed compared to something like Ninja Blade.

Tbh Miss, i think you need to think about uppin' the crazy stakes. Energy stalkers without AS has allready been done. After all, last years crazy are this years mildly mal-adjusted. Or something like that anyway
Why dont you create a stalker and take no other powers after you've slotted ur AS at lvl7 and try to get ur character to security lvl50 without training up after that- just go the whole way with just ur 2nd, 4th and 6th tier powers? 
(okay, maybe allow yourself build up @ lvl8)

well i'm doin it with ngy to get use it and when it 50 she will get to 50 i will start other 1 that as a lot less power something like elc or claws, unless u few on here can think of a build that prob have no chance hittin 50 n i will get there cause im that MAD

As other people have said its easily doable with energy melee if you slot it right.
Did it myself a couple of years back with em/sr, did base raids/zone/some arena and was pretty decent, build up+bone smasher+energy transfer is plenty of damage throw in placate and another crit if needed.
IMO its a good idea to play a stalker and not use AS for awhile, seen to many EM stalkers rely on it and not willing to fight people unless they can get AS off, while im getting plenty of fast kills on the move myself.
For pve/leveling, its fine aswell, managed to solo elite bosses without AS (before the buffs)
I wouldnt try it with something like claws/dark melee though

Why not just roam over to the heroes side and build a scrapper?
I would personally roll a Scrapper or Brute if I was intending to create a Stalker without AS.
Anyway, seeing as you're EM/, are you intending to replace AS with Energy Transfer? lolz

My elec/nrj stalker don't use that much AS.
I prefere critical thunderstrike, then lighting rod, chain induction, placate and thunderstrike again.
Im soft capped S/L and 40-43% for the elemental damage.
Very brutish style, but lots of fun !
Elec is so good since Lightning Rod don't break hide.
Dont think it is in any way madder then my aim to be the first controller to level to 50 only using brawl.
Isn't it really the same debate as MM's without their henchmen? Defenders only taking their blasts? Tanks only taking their attack powers? etc etc...
