Stalker power prolification
Well, as I said in the general discussion thread, I think Brutes will be getting Ice Armour (but not Ice Melee) back.

Oh wait, I was just looking through a typical Stalker powers. Apart from AS, a stalker also need Build Up and Placate. Whether it will be stone or ice, Build Up and Placate also need to import into the new powerset. Once adding Build Up and Placate, Ice Melee might just work.

For Icicles and Chilling Embrace, simply remover the Taunt elements would do, I guess.
Brute can have Regeneration or Super Reflexes . I guess.
Placate replaces Taunt. Ice Melee already has Build Up.

Doesn't work. As soon as they affect a mob with any effect, Hide suppresses, the mobs see you, and you die.

Fair enough. I still feel that quite possibly the two least fitting choices for Stalkers would be Stone and Fire. Mainly because being stealthed as a clumsy rock thing that probably walks with loud *smash crash* noises would be silly. Sure, you can crouch and pretend to be a boulder, but Stalkers run around as well.
And fire, well, burns brightly. The EM pom-pom lights are already silly for this reason.
...Seriously, I'm going to facepalm if I ever see a SM Stalker use Assassin's [u]Mallet[u].

You are not a "clumsy rock thing". The only power that does that is GA, and I would expect a stalker to use that power a lot less than other ATs.

It's how you interpet them. It could, for example, represent martial arts chi, rather than actual visible light. This is a comic book world remember.

I'm sorry, but have you SEEN all the armours on at once for a Stoney? You have bunchs of rock sticking out of you, bright magma, flashing floating stones and big bits of brightly colour rock coming out your kidneys. All this and (if you chose to be this way) you look like a human + transportor-room-kiptin experiment gone wrong. NOT a Crouching Tiger, Hidden Boulder.
And yes you would make loud crashing noises because you're a heavy SoB that can't run very fast because Rooted is -Speed oh and it kinda stops traveling (well cept TP), maybe stalkers trying to run off (it happens sometimes) like being mez'd in Crazy Land.

Illusion stalker is a nice idea, but it would have to be an almost completly new set, rather than a direct port of the controller set.
Would go well with Psychic Weaponry primary.

There is no chance in hell stalkers will get stone armor set. If the devs decide to make a pile of moving rock to be able to deliver aerial kicks as concept they dont know what they are doing.
Spines/Stone armor stalker = i lol at thorny rolling boulder.
Invul stalker is my guess.

Yeah because is really hard to modify invincibility according to stalker needs.
Asuming stalkers need yet another gimped defense set, Invunerability would be ideal.
Lets take a good look at invunerability shall we?
1) Resist Physical Damage: +5.83% Resistance (Lethal, Smashing) That's not going to keep you alive long with stalker hp, but at least it stacks with Temporary Invunarability
2) Temp Invulnerability Self +22.5% Resistance (Lethal, Smashing) not bad, but res isn't as useful as def if your hp are low
3) Dull Pain: Yes, good
4) Resist Elements +5.63% res F/C/T pathetic. Not worth bothering to take
5) Unyealding: -4% def. This really hurts a stalker. It even makes it easier for someone to unhide you with aoe attacks than any other stalker.
6) Resist Energies: +5.83% res NRG/neg even more pathetic
7) Invincibility: will suppress Hide, so has to go
8) Tough Hide: +3.75% S/L def This is not only pathetic, it doesn't even stack with the def bonuses from Hide. You would be better off taking Manouvers, at least it would stack
9) Unstobblable: No problem, fine
So, I make that a total of 5 powers that would need changing in order to make stalker Invunerability playable. How many powers can you change before it stops being a port and becomes a completly new set?
And if you are talking about the consept not working:
1) If you are invunarable, why do you bother sneeking around?
2) If you are invunerable why do you have so few hp?

Invul and Stone armor both suck for stalkers. Concept wise, invulnerable people are not hiding, since they are tough. Stone armor, lol. Since you can turn yourself to stone, why you are hiding? Hide + Granite is just ridiculous image. Other than that, stone armor would make too much noise.
That leaves Elec Armour tbh. Or Ice. Ice is most likely I reckon.

well seeing as heroes dont have elec armor that leaves ice, since its supposed to mix and match hero/villain powers not villain/villain powers, unless i read it wrong somewhere.
Heroes probably will have electric armour after issue 12, so I wouldn't rule it out on that basis.
However, it fails conceptually: bright flashes, crackling sound, makes it hard to hide (jut try and hide a working Van De Graaf generator in a dark room!).
It also fails on the grounds of being a resistance based set. Just look at the poplularity of Dark Armor stalkers to see how good resistance based sets are for stalkers.
So I would rate Ice as being the second most probable choice after stone (IMO).

Resistance/Regen set without a dull pain power for HP+ on stalker is failure. Its true.

they only have to replace lightning field with hide and everything is fine

Frozen Armor: Good, gives both +def and +res.
Hoarfrost: Same as Dull Pain, good.
Chilling Embrace: Has to go. Replace with Hide?
Wet Ice: Good, duh. Mez resist.
Permafrost: Slow resist? Sort of good.
Icicles: Damage aura... Has to go. Possibly replace with something similar to Shadow Dweller from DA? By the way, Shadow Dweller is an example of an extra power made to fill in a blank in a port to Stalkers in the past. And since it's a fairly non-spectacular passive (in my eyes), it doesn't seem that hard to do... Or is it?
Energy Absorption: Seems okay. Stalkers don't get Power Sink from Mu Mastery or any other end drains to my knowledge.
Hibernate: Not sure. PvPers wouldn't stop whining about it for ages. But then Stalkers didn't get Quick Recovery in two of their sets which have it on other ATs, maybe they deserve something like Hibernoob? ...Maybe not. I dunno. Personally I don't like any of the tier 9 abilities in defensive sets.
Energy Absorption is a funny one. On a tanker, it is used mostly as a +def and aggro grabbing power. It's not very efficient for end recovery, indeed, unslotted, if you only hit one mob with it you will have an net loss of end. Clearly it would be suicidal for a stalker to jump into the middle of a big spawn and use EA to boost thier def, but it could serve as end recovery with both end mod and end rec enhancements slotted. The net result is to overal weaken the defensive efficency of the set, which is already compromised by loosing CE (-DMG -recharge).
Therefore the replacement power would have to be pretty good (unlike Shadow Dweller!), and I would go for Shiver. This would combine some of the function of CE with some of the function of Caltrops in Ninjitsu.
Hibernate? Well, Blasters get it...

stone armor some how i dont think so stalker main job is hit and run "most of the time" not hit and move slower then a slug, but can see what your sain tho PRAF but havin most of my toons stalkers (7) i just dont see it being picked but if it is then il make 1 and get it to 50 ho wait i will then new 1 any way

Stone Armour only with granite removed, rooted changed, the looping sounds fixed (which is something they are working on again for all powers) and the auras lowered, then maybe I can see the set being given to stalkers.
But really, please its just not very likely now
Energy Armor for stalkers has an end drain, cant remember the name but i know there is one.

Fair point. Can't argue with that. I just fancy Ice/Ice. Since Ice/Ice was dropped from Brute, it might be a chance to bring it back into the Villain powersets.
On paper, Ice seems to have more reasons (except the ease of re-animation); Stone seems easier.
