... But I want boost range in. Problem is, I dont know what to skip for it. First thought was acrobatics, and chunk in a bunch of kb resist IO's, but they are not that good pvp wise, and besides it would screw some of the bonus sets and make me quite vulnerable to non troller/domi holds, too. So any advice? As usual, comments and ideas are always welcome

I am in a dilemma as well for my blaster and with an almost similar build to yours (fire/em though) i am possibly looking to cut down on total focus and keeping stealth at level 50 or so. Phase could be another idea but well dunno yet still looking into it although not enough time these days due to work.

Well the build looks pretty decent to me, so will just give you some points on how I built my Ice/Em...

-I have both holds. Sure, the temptation of raw damage is huge, especially since Fire/Em became the new FOTM, but even when half the people have break-frees, it means half the others don't. With perma powerboost and Freezeray * BFRay, mine can hold Brutes in seconds, which in RV is probbaly the AT that carries BFs the least.

-Energy Punch, while useful for a Crushing Impact, really isn't necessary if you'd rather have extra range (very useful for the shorter stuff like BIBlast) than 5% recharge.

-You might want to try Aid Self instead of Phase shift... I've tried both combinations and at the moment am sticking with Aid Self again for a while. Not only would it free up an extra power, but with Power Boost it heals my Blaster for over 700 (IIRC), although I admit Phase works very well with Hibernate

-Superspeed again is really not necessary, you can chase things and get away fast enough with just two slotted Superjump- this is probably the easiest way to free a slot.

You need SS in my opinion on pretty much any PvP build simply because of -Jump.

(Though this is more important in the Arena rather than Zones).

I would take out Total Focus (even tho its nice to have the guarenteed stun) or Energy Punch for boost range, with your global 50 percent recharge boost you should be able to maintain a solid ranged chain, then jump into melee for a quick EP BS or TF, i run just Bonesmasher on my blaster and i find it to be effective enough, Build looks nice tho,

Personally i would drop either nrg punch/tf or power boost especially if you zone pvp more than team or arena. powerboost imo doesn't add a lot unless u like to pb snowstorm or duel a lot or use it strictly as a +tohit buff, which i find isnt really needed especially if you have geas.

I play Ice/em alot in zones and personally with 50% global rech you can maintain and nice attack chain, there isn't really any need for 3 melee attacks (exclu. Power thrust ofc :P). I dropped total focus because the long animation time was leaving me vulnerable to melee classes. I would suggest you drop either Energy Punch or Total Focus for boost range.

I could post my build if you wanted but yours looks fine, Only thing i would change is to mix up some IO's on where you have slotted Apoc's and Heca's to get some better accuracy on those powers. Also although it might only help a little, i think it's handy to have the +perception IO somewhere. I have one on aim.

IMO boost range is the best power for blasters. I would drop TF and take boost range instead. TF is a very nice power, but its totally useless againt anything the thats constantly moving. And I have found it doesnt make all that much difference when your kiting melee toons as you want to focus on keeping them slowed to run them out of heals, DP etc. btw EP + BS &gt; TF in about the same animation time.

tf also gives you the option of another set of purples recipes as well if your only taking for the stun.

Drop Tf, cause EP+Bonesmasher+Bib is about the same animation time as Tf, im respeccing Tf out in my ice/em for EP, have duel´d alot off */em blasters that have EP instead of TF, and i gotta say that i got EP and Bonesmasher landed on me while i was stuck in Tf animation, and EP+Bonesmasher owns Tf in damage tbh.

And yes, boost range is a MUST
