Puppetry ( Mastermind power set)
wow...just...wow that's amazing idea. I love it. Mostly the fact that maniquines are freaky (like the ones in the old Dr Who series or in the first Devil May Cry) and would make a cool power set for Master Minds.
Anyway I was wondering why not have knifes? I was thinking they looked more sinister if they had a weapon like a knife or even claws.
Agreed, some great Ideas here, although probably likely to induce some creepy puppetry-related childhood traumas in players.
/em,cower
[Edit]: I'd love to see either a placate or a confuse where you can turn another player into a puppet, that would be extra creepy.
Voodoo Doll is an interesting idea, am very much in favour of that. Also, Overfiend's mention of devil may cry was what I pictured immediately too, would certainly get me rolling a mastermind

Hmmmm that would be a better idea for manikins
I'm glad some people like it

I don't quite uderstand the string puppet thing (is it meant to be like a carnival puppet?), but I love the voodoo doll idea - kind of like a safe teleport foe.
I'd get rid of the fling power, too, and maybe think about branching into a secondary power set.
I'd like to see a power called 'tangled strings' which leaves an opponant completly unable to attack of move - just floating above the ground in a straightjacket position, gently turning around..
Or an attack called 'ventriloquist', which would basicly be a taunt power activated through an enemy target - a sort of reverse confuse attack. The target unwittingly taunts their former teammates in an AoE around them, and they all wail on the poor sap for a while. Would be so fun to watch =]
Being on strings, aswell, would help teammates avoid any knockback, and allow them to jump higher. A good solid base for a buff.
For the rest of the secondary, I think it should mostly be debuffs, but it'd be nice to see some endurance buffs, too. Maybe based off the dom's Plant control set slightly...
Also, I'd be inclined to root shadow puppets to the floor (i.e. no hover or jump) They could then have better attacks and not be over-powered with invisibility, since you can't move them around as easily. Also; no intangebility.
Liking Puppet Mastery.
Just been reading up on it though, how about a Body Puppet for the tier 3? It'll also a tie-in with the rest of the puppet powers.
@Under Control
The reason why the tier 3 pet and attack powers aren't that great is i didn't really have and ideas for them lol.
But thanks for the suggestions
And the idea of having Shadow Puppets a bit more rooted is a good idea
I've had quite a bit of experiance with puppets in my life, and i'd haveta aggree with the idea of a carnival/full body puppet, but that dosn't fit in as well with the set, and could put the MM in the odd position of acctually fighting as his main power.
You could have an anamatronic puppet, I s'pose, which could be quite cool, but infringing somewhat on the Robo's set, and isn't quite as sinister as the rest of the set.
It's a tough one to think of.
Wow now this is a mastermind set i would love to play with most certainly

I also believe a good idea for the 3rd summon would indeed be a puppet Armour much akin to Sasori's puppet armour in naruto shippuden and would make for an interesting mastermind set where you actually fight with your puppets rather than support them from the back lines. I suppose one thing you could do is when the 3rd tier pet is summoned the mastermind would get a life points, defense points boost to make up for the missing pet.

yeah that would be a great idea, but instead of it being a Mez emote using psionics why not something like that thing (that you hold onto when controlling a puppet with strings attaching themselves to the arms and legs.) so that it would like like he was being puppeted. Kinda like this game I have called Ghost Master. One of the powers you're ghosts can get is where you do that and often drives people insane. very fun. *evil smirk*

Thanks it's the first thing that came to mind. I would love to see if they were also animated in the same way too. Just like they were being lifted in the hair by invisable strings.

You can summon up to three manikins to do your bidding. These are basic wooden manikins that have been enchanted. If you attempt to summon anymore while the maximum amount is present the power will fail.

I can imagine the self intangibility could be something they use like the Soul Extraction pet for the necromancy set where it only uses the ability when low on health. It's very helpful when fighting EBs as they can escape, heal and return.

You summon a Voodoo Doll of an opponent. This will hover beside you but will not attack, instead you attack it. Its voodoo magic will eventually become useless. This pet may not be upgraded

This is certainly a very interesting power. It sounds like a prolonged hold and can be extremely effective if say there were a kheldian in you're team (either in one of the hero and villain teaming zones or perhaps if the epic villain ever comes out which is supposed to be a kheldian, but not confirmed) and you can use it to take out the Quantum or Void hunter so that the Kheldian in question can attack.

Level 28: String Puppet(Tier 3 pet)
This power summons one String Puppet. This pet is larger and suspended by strings, it will also hover beside you.

This one almost sounds a little TOO powerful in my opinion. It's very interesting and I thought it would be cool it could create underlings. Ofcourse they would be the size of rikti monkeys and deal about the same amount of damage. I hope with it having underling pets wouldn't make it too over-powered. Psioics would be interesting for it's attacks too. Perhaps like the Lich is has holds and immobilise powers.

wow, I really do hope someone takes this into account.
Brilliant idea, would spawn some really interesting characters
Haha, ace. Wonderful idea and very imaginative powers in the set. Nice work.

Nice idea even if its a little on the over powered side but i could see it working with a few things taken out or weakend.

It works like any voodoo doll should work You need to target someone e.g Statesman, the voodoo doll will be summoned beside you. When you attack the Voodoo Doll Statesman will get hurt but he will not attack you.

Ahhh ok i can see how that might be a little overpowered though imagine 7kins perma voodoo doll FTW!
Well if you think about it it's a bit like confuse.. Except instead of the target hurting other people it gets hurt
Would be no different than 7 Kinetics buffing the holds of anything else. 7 Kinetics alone would be 'overpowered'.
