That is a serious change, specialy /TA will be nice for all the sets using it (MM, defender, troller). Weird that Stun arrow remains 1.83, including the redraw it still goes over 2 sec.

Maybe my 41 merc/TA might be back in business Maybe.. really maybe.

Luckely they seem to focus overall performance first, lets see how the rest will do.

What, don't tell me you missed the other dev post too?

BAB from here

Don't expect a revolutionary change here. We just reviewed the set as a whole to make sure that weapon draw times weren't included as part of the attack time, and then passed the reduction that Slug got (0.2 second reduction) on to the other powers that also use the same animation (Buckshot, M30, & Beanbag)

Archery as a whole got a much more dramatic overhaul than Assault Rifle.

So that's AR and Archery down, Sonic next?

Its not the first time they claim redraw became part of the casting, however thus far never worked. I will await results befor doing my /em cheer with pompom balls.

Although 'most of their attack times got shorter'? The current set is 3,5sec flametrower, 6sec Fullauto, 4sec ignite, even shortened i dont think its cut down that insanly it will be equal to the other sets. These are powers that do the damage, but have serious long casting.

(FT is 0.9 over avarage, FA goes way over 2sec, ignite has no equal - ok maybe burn).

Now Shout and Powerburst

Let them just put the changes on test, so at least we can test. Now it only is guessing on numbers.

Yet basicly you say TG, PvP is only for Ice and Fire? As they seemed to be gimped with a 0.5 increase casting, while the rest have powers way over 1,67 sec casting.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well i am not saying this but i am saying that considering the concept of PvP within this game and the amount of mobility it needs fire and ice are best suited because they allow you to keep this mobility and not spend time rooted.

Like i said PvP REALLY stresses sets and builds and this change would be obvious to the attack chains of fire and ice blasters.I am all for buffing the rest of the sets to align them with fire and ice and the 1.2 sec is fine with me.

Nerfing is not the solution tho when blasters are supposed to be underperforming and the devs are trying to fix this.Nerfing animation and side offering some base dmg increase is not a good exchange from a PvP point of view.Yes i know for PvE sounds great but like i said the AT's are stressed during PvP and not so much during PvE.

This is why i strongly disagree with this.Of course i will wait and see but i hope this wont go through and instead just buff the rest.Which will make sonic very attractive.

From a PvE point of view I'd rather keep the animation quickness on Ice thanks. Its what made the set different. My archer is good fun for different reasons. Although if you could let me have Blizzard without an end crash and give Rain Of Arrows Blizzard damage I'd fully support the balancing of blasters.

oh yes. Don't think this will be happening.

Can we get Dark Blast as a Blaster Primary instead?

I've a sneaking suspicion that Castle is going to try to scale it downwards a bit. Or maybe make part of the animation non-rooting or something when you're moving a-la-Assault/Tactics.

[/ QUOTE ]

From here

"Just as a point of clarification attack times are not the same thing as animation rooting times. We generally set attack times based on how long the power animation keeps you rooted in place, but they're 2 values set in two different places (actually, 3 different places).

In the case of Ice Blast, you'll actually be able to move 2/3ds of a second after you activate it...you just won't be able to activate another power until the full 1.67 seconds has elapsed."

I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!
(Well, OK, maybe it was BAB that changed it and not Castle, but still...)

Also from here "I went ahead and changed Shriek for the non-blasters. I still contend that it's just a token change, but there's not really any reason to not do it, and it'll probably help prevent future complaints."

Good news that is

However, weird that suddenly they open up so much details about all the animation/casting since NCsoft bought it all. All previous posts regarding rooting/animation etc were never said anything about different values regarding rooting/animation/casting (even with BFR, only say faster animation).

The entire run towards issue 11, only defiance was info, but now all of a suddenly they totaly revamping the animations of the sets. Oh well, its good so im happy

My archer's not likely to have changed at all is it? Still going to be seriously ST weak and fairly AoE weak

Don't like the change on my Ice blaster.

I do like the new Flares, but it's still [censored] poor damage.

Hurry up and let us test the new Defiance.

Posted

Flares is good now yeah. [censored] damage, but cool animation. I'll probably slot it now on my Dom. Still not taking it on my Blaster though.

I don't know about Fire Blast though. There is a noticeable difference, but it's not game breaking yet. I will have to see how the new Defiance works out to see if it compensates well enough.

Haven't tested Ice Blast yet, but I'm guessing the difference there will be a lot more noticeable.

Erm... you might want to looky here before claiming that you can tell the difference between the "new version" of Fire Blast and the old one... (it's still the old one on test!)
