Siphon Speed needed?
When you say "have Speed Boost" do you mean have the power, or have the buff applied to you by someone else?
If it's the former, then Siphon Speed can still be of use - 2 to 3 times 20% recharge is always handy and, unlike Hasten, it doesn't have a ridiculous recharge time.
If it's the latter, then you could do without it, although I'd still take it - I'd even take it over Hasten as it's more useful in my opinion - 40% all the time and 60% half the time is better than 70% some of the time.

Needed? No...but you it would be silly not to take it.
perma 40 - 60% +rech? What's not to like?

Accuracy check.
After reading through loads of posts about fire/kins i was wanting to add ring of fire somewhere later on for holding AVs. Anything i can do without?
lvl 1 - Char
lvl 1 - Transfusion
lvl 2 - Fire Cages
lvl 4 - Siphon Power
lvl 6 - Swift
lvl 8 - Hasten
lvl 10 - Siphon Speed
lvl 12 - Combat Jumping
lvl 14 - Super Jump
lvl 16 - Flashfire
lvl 18 - Health
lvl 20 - Stamina
lvl 22 - Speed Boost
lvl 24 - Acrobatics
lvl 26 - Hot Feet
lvl 28 - Kick
lvl 30 - Tough
lvl 32 - Fire Imps
lvl 35 - Transference
lvl 38 - Fulcrum Shift
lvl 41 - Fire Ball
lvl 44 - Cinders
lvl 47 - Fire Shield
lvl 49 - Weave
at the end of the day is ring of fire something really needed? I'm a scrapper/tanker at heart so quite new to trolling. Cheers for replies so far
up to lvl 12 so far with this fella...i've taken hotfeet later because it was zapping my end too much in early teens. This build is purely for pve.

vl 28 - Kick
lvl 30 - Tough

these you can do without
also, you could probably do without acrobatics and slot in 1 or perhaps 2 knockback resistance IO's instead. That will be enough, if you're only using this for PVE, saving you another power choice.
the only reason i was adding in fighting was that i was teaming with a lvl50 fire/kin who could quite easily deal with large +2 mobs like they were -5s. He swore by fighting pool...hence was trying to incorporate it somewhere.
You're near 50% Smash/Lethal Resistance with just your APP Shield, and when Transfusion heals for so much I really don't see much of a need for Tough.
I find it very hard to die when I get a rhythm going unless it's something like the Battle Maiden mission and I just get unlucky - but a 6 man spawn on Invincible there could probably also go through Tough without much issue.
Fighting pool on a controller? Seriously, that's only needed when you are very not-good at controlling. Even a second travel power would be more useful than that waste of endurance.
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

[/ QUOTE ]Or you're so good at killing that flashfire's animation and recharge slows you down!

Good advice.
And take Cinders at the latest in your late 20's- which you can do easily when you drop the silly fighting pool Really no proper trolling without your AoE hold.

Fire Cages > Transfusion > Fulcrum (if needed/up) > Fireball.
I see no need for Fighting.
Might want fighting for IOs, LoTG etc

If you need slots for Defence IOs, there are usually better choices: Maneuvers, Hover, CJ, Stealth to name a few. For Resistance ones, ID or Epic shields.

Yes, because Fireball's animation is so long.
Yeah, and because a fire/kin's control powers take sooo long to recharge that you always have to fight against truckloads of uncontrolled mobs.
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

lvl 4 - Siphon Power
[/ QUOTE ]
you can always respec this out after you get fulcrum shift, as long as you dont intend to drop below lvl 38 too often, that way if you really wanted to you can keep fighting.
although i agree im not sure you are going to notice the difference from tough etc that you want.....
oh and siphon speed is a big yes
I kinda like Siphon Power for doing things like AV's (especially solo) - though it's not needed if all you'll be doing is Farming or running standard missions at 38+.
