NaNoWriMo 2007

Since I didn't succeed in hitting the 50,000 words last November... I'm trying again.

My story, as "planned" at the moment, isn't set in the CoH world, but it will feature CoH. Alongside Bill Hicks quotes, weird weather, and talking animals. (I'm using dares instead of planning the plot- it could get very silly!)

So.. Is anybody else trying it this year?

Go on.. you know you want to!

Same here. I realised 18 days in that my story didn't have legs and started a different one that has since spiralled way beyond the target of 50,000 words. It'd probably be irresponsible of me to start a new one.

Would 50,000 words of short stories count? Maybe 10,000ish words per story, all with a similar theme and setting?

[/ QUOTE ]

An anthology of sorts? Not sure if that's against the rules or not.

This :Link: kind of gives the impression its not a big issue.

After all, its not like there's a million pound prize or anything. But it is a good excuse to do something with all those ideas you've been storing up but never got round to starting off

I'm up for it again. Last year I didn't decide to join up until 1st November and launched into it with no plan or storyline in mind. Consequently I came unstuck in week 3 with a couple of plot holes that I couldn't figure out how to resolve and realising that my main villain wasn't right for the way it was going. This time I'm gonna be a bit more prepared.

Not sure what I'll do though yet. I've got three ideas at the mo, one is a CoH based one, another is a Lovecraft inspired thing and the other is a sci-fi story, but I've not settled on which one to do yet.

I'm sort of considering doing that now as a warm-up...

Yeah, I'm giving it another go after failing miserably last year.

I got about a 1000 words in and couldn't figure out where to take the plotline for my book, then came up with the perfect answer with about 2 days to the deadline

This time, I'm gonna start again, from scratch, and really go for it.....work, family and CoH permitting of course!

I have to really, or Stasis will hunt me down! For some reason she liked what I did last year.......go figure!

Will give it a go this year, will base it on CoH/V too, now, for planning..

I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.

I've gone for it twice, accomplished the target twice. Yeah, I'm game.

This time around I'll take all the RP experiences from both SWG and CoH, use the character models and plotlines, and put the story into an original universe. Main characters will be based on Khuure and Coile. Khuure was a honorable, brutal, violent, charismatic, dramatic, remorseless lesbian Zabrak who with sheer force of will and personality created a fanatic following of lovers and soldiers. Coile is a moody, faulty, scared, tactless, thoughtless guy who just ploughs on despite the hardships. Then I'll sic 'em both on the same massive, shadowy adversary and put the world's / galaxy's fate up as a stake. Should be fun.

I'm gonna attempt to hit the mark again too this year. Planning on trying a superhero story, but not actually based on CoH. It may be slightly influenced by it however :P

Indeed it was myself. Unfortunately, due to getting the plague with an added dose of Sinusitis in the last week of November, I only managed to get to 43,000 words, and 40-odd pictures.

Plus I missed a University exam, which was sort of bad, but not quite as bad. Mostly as I'd already passed my module on coursework alone.

And it's on.

Saldo so far: 0 words. Half a day gone already.

That's cheered me up, my 151 words at lunchtime looks like a more reasonable start now!

Well, I'm up and running and on 1009 words so far.

And Tyl....honestly, who comes into a thread like this, with people who are talking about writing, to make a comment like that??

Just above 1400 words out of 3400 words I should have hit yesterday, and nothing yet today, and I'll be out the whole evening. Means next week I have to just bash the words in. Since I have the story in my head already.
