Help.. im stuck!!

I am building a fire/energy blaster, and cant decide between either Flares, Rain of Fire, Fire Breath or Blaze.

At the moment I have picked Blaze as its a higher damage power however, I will be bouncing between ranged and close up.

I also have the option for Energy Punch, Stun, Power Boost, or Boost Range.

Any ideas?

Edit: also do i need acrobatics?

Energy punch or blaze, I say. Those are best (single target) damage out of the options. Otherwise maybe fire breath. Flares sucks. Boost range is good but optional and power boost is great but I doubt you need it that much for PVE.

Ok.. how about fire breath or acrobatics?

Is it really needed as it only helps against one hold and my elec/elec blaster gets held quite often with it.

So basically, another damage power or acrobatics?

Acrobatics main use is against knockback. For KB protection it is without peer. Its up to you whether you need it.

Boost range with 2 SO (or IO +35) makes it perma already, that doubles the range of blaze

50)Sinergy X/(50)Mika.
(50)MaceX/(50)Encore

Iirc I once tested it and it required 3, but its not far off with just 2 either. Its a great power if you can find room for it.

Fire Breath>Blaze>Energy Punch>Acrobatics, and skip the rest imo

As a fire blaster, you will want to be (and be wanted by) big teams. Big teams want AoE. Fire breath is a fantastic AOE hitter.

Thanks. Think I managed to get as many powers as possible, with also taking aid self, acrobatics, and superjump.

Hoepfully my build is sorted now, but dont really get any more than 2 damage powers till lvl22. Oh well.. roll on double xp lol

As a blaster it may be worth taking a look at fly for your travel power.

Hover is handy for sitting above high melee damage enemies and blasting away.
Also....hover is a pretty decent KB avoider. Sure....it'll spin you right over but basically you can keep blazing away with no down time.

No need to waste an extra power for KB protection like you would be doing with the acrobatics route.

But you would waste most of your secondary

Blaster secondary attacks are best for when you are grouping....soloing and depending on your secondary is a sure way to faceplant ...rely on your primary for fast bad guy incapacitation with secondary for any singles that make it close to you....and have the first power in EM as your Ctrl auto-power...for a nice control type power.

In a group the tank should have aggro allowing you to use your powerful EM attacks in relative safety...directed KBs will be on the tank....all you have to worry about is the AOE KB.

3 slot hover with flight speed and you have a very useful little power that many people just dismiss as a step on the way to getting Fly.

I guess it depends on your style..if you want to Blap more than Blast.

Build up, aim, Fire Breath and fire ball do a lot of damage to minions. If not killing them, so i would say fire breath first.

Bull. My blapper soloes well. Up to invincible although certain mezzing faction bosses are tough, but they would be if you use ranged as well.

And that's just with the melee secondaries, /dev is even more made for solo.

I have to agree with Hammerfall and MaXimillion here. IMO soloing with a squishy blaster is all about taking out the opposition fast as your options for defense and healing are quite limited and sniping from afar and staying out of range is not alway efficient or even possible. A few friendly EM punches go a long way towards this goal.
In my experience blapping is actually more dangerous in a large team than solo or in a small team as enemies tend to be tightly grouped around the tank and the sheer amount of AoE damage there can kill you very fast if you are not careful.

If it has
eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.
