current state of Elude

After coming back to CoH, I've been trying to find out the current state of the SR power, Elude. With crafted enhancements in quickness, hasten and elude is it possible to get it perma, has it been borked so that it's not worth taking or do I fit it into my build elsewhere?

I'd be interested in seeing hard numbers and sources of info too if you have them.

Only way to get it near perma is having close to 400% recharge bonus (1000 / 1+4 = 200). Wich is kinda close to impossible.

Sounds like it's still a handy power but more something you fire towards the end of a big fight. If you use it, how does it fit in with your build?

I usually click Elude in 2 main situations:

1.- When fighting a powerful AV or in the middle of a huge mob of purples and my healthbar is showing red.

2.- When attacked by more than 1 player in a PvP area.

Occasionally I also use it as an end recovery power when fighting purple Carnies or Malta's, although if you choose Conserve Power from Body Mastery you won't need Elude for that. Actually the main reason why I use Elude for recovery is for respeccing Conserve Power.

Bear in Mind that, when Elude goes off, your endurance bar goes zero and all your shields will go off while you will be unable to recover end for a while, so make sure that anything you are fighting is going to be dead before it wears off.

I also mainly use it against AVs or big mobs of purples.

Actually that's something I just noticed, on nofuture.org it is listed as 180 secs, but I think the only scrapper secondary 9-tier power that lasts 3 min is MoG, I think both Elude and Unstoppable only last 2 min instead of 3.

I'm almost sure it's 3 minutes... INV tanker unstoppable is certainly 3 minutes.

After attempting to put together a perma-elude build in Mid's Planner, I can't get close. The maximum I can tease out of one scrapper using set bonuses seems to be +105% Recharge on a Spines/SR. Combined with Quickness this is enough to get "perma Hasten", but leaves Elude with a recharge of 254.8 seconds.

Tbh, 3 min Elude is far better than 2 min Elude, I'll time it as soon as I arrive back home

I got Elude down to 240.7 seconds with this Dark Melee/Super Reflexes Build. Highly Unconventional though. I'd never play it that's for sure. Completely had to skip the coolest powers like Soul Drain, Dark Consumption, and Shadow Maul in favor of a min/maxed Recharge build. And note, Hasten also recharges in 113.7 seconds in this build also.

while 3 minutes up/ 1 Minute down is Nice, I don't think it's worth the hassle honestly.

i remember doing a lvl 53 D.R.Support Titan and he knocked me into red hp in no time and then i clicked Elude. I finished him off in about 40 seconds after clicking elude and thought OMG elude is good only to see i hadnt actually clicked it.
So much uberness can come down to so much luck.

I make it 252.7 seconds with that build.
You appear to have forgotten the "no more than 5 identical set bonuses" rule...

You appear to have forgotten the "no more than 5 identical set bonuses" rule...

Identical, yes. But when Crushing Impact gives a +5% Enhanced Recharge, and Red Fortunre gives +3.75% Enhanced Recharge, they're not exactly Identical. I can't remember where, but I had gotten the impression similar but not identical bonuses like that were applicable. If not, then the whole build is out of whack as it has 5 sources of +5%, 5 sources of +7.5%, 5 sources of 3.75%, and 4 sources of 6.25% Recharge Enhancement.

I can't very well test it in game yet though, so don't mind me. If anyone could confirm it though, that would be wonderful.

I make it 10 sets of 5% Recharge?
Maybe you're using an old value for Red Fortune? I make it 5% not 3.75%.

Here is an unfinished build (meaning still looking into it) for a BS/SR waiting to level up.

Perma Hasten 13 seconds downtime on build up fast attack chain and Elude down to 246 seconds recharge.Need to look into dmg a bit and figure out how gimped this build is exactly.Altho i am preparing to make a similar build for my MA/SR.

Hmm I can't slot any set's into rest in my version of Mid's - how did you manage that?

On the build:
Watch out for end usage - with all the recharge and the lack of end redux in attacks, the 1 minute downtime of elude is going to be extremely painful, and not just in terms of enduance - only 30% defense to range and AoE.

Due to the recharge you attack chain is actually going to be full with just the sword attacks though which is nice.

I don't think it's "gimped", but in for PvE terms it's missing AoE damage I guess. Having headsplitter up quicker than every 5 seconds is going to be doing a lot of damage!

You can probably change a lot of the set IO's to lower level so that it will still work at say 38, without affecting the overall bonuses as well. (e.g. all the defense set IO's and only loose a tiny % of defense).

Bloody expensive build mind!

This is a buld i'm experimenting with for my kat/sr who's currently level 37. Note some of the enhancements are at different levels, and in fact higher level one's should be taken. Some of the final power picks could be in a different order, depending on preference.

It works exemped down to various levels 32 and above.
If you opt for LOTG def/endurance instead of def/increased attack rate, and don't take the numina's it's actaully very cheap.

Outside of elude all defense is around 45% (at level 50). It prioritises ranged defense first - my current live build has about 42% ranged defense, also caps melee with one divine avalanche (parry) and has something like 33% aoe def. The attack chain is fast and high damage.
Health and the passive's get slotted during the 40's btw.

It works great for PvE, I don't really PvP so I'm not sure how effective this would be, but it does have a 24% tohit buff and a 53% accuracy buff, as well as > 115% def to all when elude is up (I think elude would be up for more than half of the time with this build).

Nice build for kat/SR. Will save it and prolly use it at some point thanks!

Regarding my build is a bit too risky as without elude and no support things get tricky with this build.During the 70sec downtime of elude need to be a bit cautious but after that can go all out again.

You are right lacks aoe damage but thats my intention at start.
