C4 - The New S4!
We never said you have to turn of travelpowers. The only thing we said was that travelpowers weren't allowed. It's a difference, think about it. As already mentioned a few times now, our intention was only to not allow the use of the level 14 travelpowers, not more not less.
After a fast read of this post, I think making it without travelpowers would be fun, but well depending on the map and the team, I mean a 2 tk, 1 cage team or an eden map would have been a nightmare ^^
By the way, for balance, I suggest you to keep old 5v5 which is the only way the game find his balance.
We had the french 5uper tournament less than a month ago on Arena-Cox , teams were 1 AT mixed hero/villain and winners had to win 2 times to reach the next round, final was 1 round. 11 teams were set and it was really interesting to see new cox combos. So don't be afraid to mix cox in 5v5, it works nice.
Not sure we will be there for your event cos we have lot of irl busy people atm in the LU sg. I'll tell you when you will set this tournament a date and final rules.

Lovely to see yet another PvP Event being organised GREAT (no matter what the rules are)
I think the rules where are fine, I would be more than happy to use none of the 4 main Travel Power and loose my HOs so not to give anyone the chance of cheating by duplicating their existing Hamios.
The problem is theres no way you could possibly up hold rules like that, you got to keep these big events simple I can see it now 4 minutes into a match

A C4 team consists of either four heroes or four villains of different archetypes. I would like to see 5 (Pentad Rules) might be just me, I dont think Ill bother talking about the Subs.
Im not sure about not allowing Villains and Heroes to mix and match either, as again I like the idea and it sounds very nice on paper but Im not sure whether there will be a great turn out for the Villains side of the event. They dont really have the same amount of Arena PvPing going on as Heroes do, Ive found most Villains made for PvP are indented to compliment a Hero team, not to make an all out Villain Squad. I could be wrong of course, but you may find the Villain Side of C4 could be rather dull solely due to the number of players available to take part. Although with it being cross-server numbers may be fine, still less than Heroes but enough to give a good Villains Tournament Hopefully this will be the case.
One more thing, Ive read the CoHmpendium Forums as well and some comments over the event rules are SO mean, just remember theyre only trying to organise a decent PvP Event for all of us to enter. Some rules are pants but their intentions are good none the less. Not saying dont ask for the rules to be changed, just do it nicely

I've looked all over the C4 Web Site but can't see anything about the date, but I remember reading the 28th of May somewhere. I know registration ended on the 25th of May.
Apparently cancelled which sucks. Any english villain teams enter as maybe can fight me and my team of doooom.

Quite incredibly wrong, its total movement supression as your natural speed is supressed, for example SRs and /elecs lose their movement bonus, kinetics powers of Speed boost loses one of its status effects and Inertia reduction is useless. I can get 46mph out of my SR scrapper without any travel pool powers but in arena with "travel" off my movement is suppressed to the same level as everyone elses. Its not no travel it IS SUPRESSED MOVEMENT. If SRs and /Elecs warrant +speed in the game to balance their sets pros and cons they need it in the arena, whatever scenario.
Arena was designed before COH went live, one would assume they chose movement supression over turning off travel pools as the buffs from powers in the travel pools were once very impressive and fundamantal to many peoples builds (remember blasters with 40% def anyone? Hasten with +def in it?) As it stands now a far better way would be to actually turn off travel (grey out ss, fly, teleport, sj and group fly and TP) as the actual travel powers no long apply any status effects, positive or negative.

what he said. Turning off travel powers in the arena, does a lot more than that. You can kiss goodbye, swift, hurdle, quickness, sprint, speedboost and all those powers as well, because all their effects are supressed.
I'm glad you've chosen to get rid of this rule though . You'll have plenty of no travelpower fights in the Bantamweight class, which is gonna be very interesting indeed.
