Regular Trapper Team
Not to worry. We'll see you a little later down the line then.
Hope to see you guys online tonight!
I'm excited.
Last night was much fun.
My favourite part of the evening was on that last Mayhem in the vault, when we laid Caltrops and Acid Mortars by the lift doors and just waited for the hero to spring our trap. True trapping action.
Thanks to everyone for showing. At one point we had 11-12 trappers I think!
If we have those kind of numbers next week, we may well be able to storm Fort Hades en masse and get the Pirate badge, with a minimum of debt.
Yup. Even with just acid mortars debuffing the damage from multiple caltrops is really hurting them. I even got some kills on my lvl 21 traps corruptor in SC once everyone left.

Sounds like it went really well. I'll curse the opera show I'm working on this week because, quite frankly caltrop acid mortar doom sounds hella more interesting than Don Giovanni right now. I'll do my best to hunt you guys down next week or so. Where's the regular meeting place for this bad boy?

The meeting place will change from zone to zone as we level up, but currently it's alongside Arbiter Unger in Port Oakes.
We reached level 11 last night (partially due to the two smaller teams) so it's unlikely that we'll catch up to your level 18 next week anyhow.
We do have an SG and a chat channel now though and you're welcome to join either, both or neither, as you prefer. Neither are a requirement to join in on the fun.
Could always malefactor down if you dont give a monkeys about XP for a while.

Fun > XP. Every day of the week. If I can make it, I'll be there.

So who else has been thinking about Caltrops and Acid Mortars all weekend?
See you all tomorrow night, I hope!
I have a level 39 dark / traps corrupter on defiant message me if you want to team

This team's on Union and only level 10 or so at the moment, IIRC. (I'm not part of the team, just a lurker in the thread, who may join in if/when they get closer to 50)
Warning:
The above post may contain Cynicism, sarcasm and/or pessimism. If you object to the quantities contained, then tough.
Carnie, Yeah I noticed after - A friend pointed me to the thread, but I do have a low level on union also level 10 I think.
I might join in later, trying to get my dom to 50 1st
It's a cointoss whether I'll have time to join the party tomorrow. I want to but, well, schedule is wonky.
Where are you guys meeting and if I'm late who should I send a tell to?

Good question.
We'll be meeting by Arbiter Unger in Port Oakes again, with the aim to start missions (or whatever) at 7pm.
Wonky schedule aside, it was very cool to run a bit with you guys. Also, I now know the importance of power selection if I plan on malefactoring. Apparently I didn't buy any traps until AFTER I reached level 11.
Oops.
(See you next week)

Hehe, pirate ghost busting was fun! Though Arachnos ghost busting was... not so fun.
Still, I had a great time last night, despite the difficulty we'd imposed on ourselves. (From now on I think things will go smoother on a lower diff setting, at least until we have Force Field Generators).
I propose that at level 16 (post-FFG), we give the Tarikoss SF a whirl. Or, level 18, after the FFG's been slotted a bit (not to mention that fun things like Flamethrower, Blaze, Cosmic Burst and 3rd 1st tier MM pets happen at 18 as well).
Thanks for coming along gang. Level 12 and rising!
Yeah,relentless/ruthless Arachnos Ghosts were a tad rough.
Using choke points (if available) and playing concentrated it was manageable, but not very fun.
We should stay at vicious til 16 and FFG.
Did you start Lunatas second arc after i left because of my long zoning times and resulting servelosts (and the twilight zone bug) ?
I plan to catch up with missions during the week.
Tarikoss at 18 sounds good,16 may be at bit early (fighting level 19+ if CoV SFs are like most CoH TFs).
Agreed on the Vicious difficulty.
I do enjoy using choke points. As a team we end up thinking about and using the scenery more than I've ever done before.
The next mission we have queued up for Lunata is "Defeat Phil & his friends", so that will be our starting point next week.

Yes,i have rarely seen a team taking advantage of the environment whenever possible.Very good teamwork.
But when using choke points is the only method to avoid casualties for nearly every spawn it gets a little tiresome .
But maybe I remember it worse then it was, still a bit miffed about my connection problems yesterday and grumpy all around .
Not to worry.
Personally I prefer playing at lower difficulties because it usually equates to faster XP-over-time (and less debt), but last night I wanted to gauge our capabilities.
Next week we'll lower the level and relax a bit. Fun is what this is all about anyway.
I must admit, I'm debating another character change (my alt-itis has hit new heights...it's now affecting a single character slot).
I'm worried about the soloability of fire/traps and the ungodly aggro it generates after Monday.
I was thinking maybe mercs/traps MM? It works thematically, or am I being too hasty?
@Moondog
Union:
CoH: Moondog (WS); V-Rock (Tnk, semi-retired); Pole-Star (Bla); Demon Dog (Scr).
CoV: Midnight Gunner (Corr); Operative John Doe (Ban); Day-Star (Dom); Commissar Jaeger (MM).
Personally I'd stick with Fire. It is an aggro-drawer in the early levels, but once the MMs get more pets and the other Corrs get more AoEs, you'll probably not be taking the lion's share of things.
Also bear in mind that in 4 levels time you and I both will have 8 FFGs to protect us if we decide to keep doing those suicidal pulls.
I wouldn't say you fire AoE's were inducing much in the way of aggro as even with Rain of Fire pouring on them, they took more notice of me and my M30 nade
Thanks for the break-down. Open Sore is lvl 18 right now...and since I've got a show to do this week and can't make it until next...I'll see you guys then.
and for what it's worth my vote goes to Ticking Toymasters of Terror, but only because I'm weird like that. And eventually we'll all have explosives. Lots and Lots of explosives.
