Here are the two ways I would build a pvp Kat/Regen:

The difference is in team pvp you will wont to act as a secondary tanker so the ST taunt is very useful and in team pvp you will wont to get fliers out the air Whereas in solo body mastery is more useful as conserve power is great against kins or ele/ blasters and FA incase of -acc debuffs

Surely MoG would be a waste in PvP? Spoke to many people about using MoG and it is absolutley rubbish in PvP!, especially against toxic or psionics! so using in PvP would guarantee debt 100%.

MoG is a good power when used to the right situations - its awesome against Kinetics controllers for example. Also there was nothing else I could pick that would be better

Ahh thanks. I've not really investigated Scrapper builds before I started mine.. only L8 now.. but I took Katana/Regen.. was wondering between SuperJump or Speed for travel speed.. I see most builds seem to take Hasten and Speed.

Except the ones with autohit defense debuffs
Ps. MoG offers no DEFENSE against psi damage or attacks either... Phantom army will eat you alive thru MoG quite happily.. Not to mention mind controllers..
Ps. superjump as the only travel power will be more handy cause you dont get vertical movement with superspeed. If you have the power slot to invest then thats your thing, imo. You can take both too.
Ok make it's useful against all the trollers but illu or mind / rad still most of them though. And also provides repel resistance, which would surprise bubblers
an interesting build one of my sg members used, although he never used it in pvp but he swore by was using the fitness pool fully slotted health and stamina, with full slotted regen powers fast healing and quick recovery. his survivability was impressive in missions and i think it was a shame for him to have repecced it out before trying it pvp.

I haven't actually respecced it out. I still have Fast Healing, Health, Quick recovery and Stamina all 3 slotted with as many SO's as I possibly can afford. I'm not wasting extra slots on these powers as after three, any further slots that take the same type of enhancement only offer aobut a 1.1% increase to the power itself, these slots are better used on another power I feel. I could still try it in pvp, and provided I'm not AS, I should be able to deal with most attacks, I remember taking on a lvl 40 Brute in Siren's when I was lvl 28 and he needed help to finish me off. Hehehe, I wasn't all that fast at taking him down but nor was he a major threat to me till his buddy turned up. As for PvP itself, I'm not too interested until I hit lvl 50, I wanna get that done first and then I'll probably tweak my build for pvp/pve fighting.
Still it's nice to be vindicated by my SG leader as up to now he's always been telling me to drop Fitness as the powers were already present in Regen power pool,which is right, but now I'm twice as survivable for only a couple of extra power choices.
The only trouble I have now is against Psionics and Endurance Sappers like Arachnos and Canies. I flipping hate carnies!

and one last thing!whats you attack cycle in the solo pvp build without hasten cause with no lotus of drops i thing
it may have some blanks in the attack chain!

I personally have tough on my regen but in a pure pvp build movement is your greatest ally SJ is mainly there for other SJers if you are that worried about fliers take web grenade. Fly is too slow for a serious pvp scrapper.
If you want to zone pvp ie before 50 you are probably better off taking the cone or AoE but again at lvl 50 the other attacks (those I didnt pick) have too long an activation with too little damage.
Again I'd just like to add this is what I would consider a min/max build wouldnt be good if everyone agreed as you would all have the same build

Tough a necessity on a regen!? You're kidding right?
Fly is an inferior choice to CJ/SJ. CJ (if you slot it up with jump) + Hurdle (again, slotted with jump) gives great unsupressed movement. Fly is far too slow against anything other than other fliers. And with the huge amount of -fly powers in the game, you're liable to be left walking half the time.
And in a PvP build you really don't need Lotus Drops, any decent PvPers will be moving about far too much for you to fire it off with any reliablity, and besides, in PvP single target is king.
Agree with Empath about the jumping pool, Fly is pathetic for a melee toon in PvP, and I can personally attest to the uselessness of teleport-self for anything other than an "Oh [censored]!" button.
Tough is not required for a regen by any stretch of the imagination, and more than likely you will not even notice it in PvP other than as another endurance sink.
Lotus drops is next to useless in PvP, and more or less pants in PvE as well. Flashing Steel is better 95% of the time: wide cone rather than small PBAoE but identical damage, faster recharge and lower cost.

The above is how I'd build for mainly Sirens PvP with a bit of RV/Raid stuff.
Slotting order is fairly random but the power pick order is important, as is the final slotting in pre-32 powers.
Bear in mind that Katana is definately not the best PvP primary.
Up until 32 you're really not going to get much more functionality out of your build than that. IH doesn't need heal slots, Jump speed is capped in SJ, Run speed is capped in SS. You can lose Super Speed for Divine Avalanche if you really want to fit it in before 30, but it will only be useful in toe-to-toe melee fights.
After 32 the power picks are really down to personal preference, so you could fit in MoG or Tough there.

you are right about LOD in PVP its [censored]..but in PVE its not so [censored] and its not so small pbaoe!
i have hited 5-7 mobs with LOD maybe more...and flashing steel maybe do the same dmg but dont hit
so many mobs and in my pve build LOD fits better in my attack chain rather than flashing steel!

surely man its a very good power to have in all situations!in pvp more than 60-70% of people
dont do phy damage!Its not a reg power maybe but if you do some 1v1 in rv with mellee like
brutes and stalkers with no leaving(looser die)you will see the difference between having
and not having it when vilains do their 38 lvl power and own you...you will be dead thinging

if you want a second traveling power you should do some safeguard missions to get g-zero and
raptor pack and you got a second for some time!
a last thing i wanted to tell is that in a kat/reg pvp the most of the powers are standar to
select and the sloting!the differences are in powers pools exept fitness pool which i thing
is essential to our build!the other powers that we all argue like mog,tough second traveling
power etc is the personal playstyle of its char and the concept he haves on his mind!

I fail to see how that could be the case, given that not only does Flashing Steel recharge faster, but does the same damage and costs less endurance. But if you prefer a PBAoE then that's entirely your choice, I loved the animation for Lotus Drops but just couldn't justify it as a viable power pick.

Most folks here will know my views on MoG.
I will NEVER be convinced that its worth taking unless they remove the health drain and -regen.
For a PvE scrapper with Broadsword or Parry I fail to see any benefit from taking it.
In PvP if you fight a non-AR Blaster and use it, you will likely die.
If you fight an Ill Troller, Mind Troller, Mind Dom, /Psi Dom or /Psi Defender, you will likely die.
Against a defender/troller with a Psionic Epic, you will likely die.
If you use it whenever a Stalker is nearby, you will likely die.
See a pattern?
It's also impossible to turn off for 180 seconds.
And autohit debuffs and toggles will still affect you (Rad/Dark/Cold!)

In pvp there is no such thing as "too much accuracy", as Hammerfall keeps trying to tell me... Personally I had major trouble hitting some def-build brutes and stalkers with Focussed Accuracy 6-slotted and one accuracy SO in each attack. I now have two Acc SOs in most of those attacks and still miss when they use tier9s.
You NEED two accuracy SOs in Divine Avalanche for PvE let alone for PvP, it is a defensive power and if it misses then your survivability takes a very large hit. As a scrapper in PvE you should be fighting higher level mobs anyway, so they're going to be tricky to hit.
I can reliably hit MoG'ed Paragon Protectors in PvE now...
TLD does more damage than Flashing Steel. The initial damage is the same but TLD has the DoT "bleeding" effect as well and the final damage is more than SotW. In my opinion a PvE scrapper should take ideally take both because scrappers can take the aggro from AoEs and Build Up+ TLD speeds things up a lot. I don't really see the point for either in a PvP build, though, except perhaps Flashing Steel as an attack chain filler for Sirens.
Never really got the hang of tick damage for a scrapper tbh. I agree that Flashing Steel is a better filler for sirens, I use FS regularly in a PvE attack chain and it's certainly a better option than Gamblers Cut or TLD against single targets.
Given the choice between them I'd choose Flashing Steel. I'd like to take TLD too for PvE but there's not enough slots dammit...
I've 3 cones in my kat/regen build at the moment with Flashing Steel, Energy Torrent and Golden Dragonfly... which normally does more than enough AoE splash damage.

First and Foremost - Kat/Regen FTW!
Now, there are a few things in this thread that have me puzzled.
1 - Phil, In your first post, in the first build, you've slotted attacks with only one accuracy and you've chosen Weapons Mastery so theres no Focused Acc. Where are you getting you Acc from? Tactics is only another 7% and no where near enough for PvP.
2 - Why is everyone so insistent on SJ?

--> Hurdle==> Jump Jump Jump
--> Super Speed==> Run
--> Combat Jumping==> DefBuf
*Note: I never use or consider sprint as it uses a nice bit of endurance.
With the above, Speed is Caped and you can jump extremely high for someone without SJ. The extra slot in Swift allows you to hit the speed cap, its more usful to you in Swift that SS as it's always on. Any slotting is CJ is a waste, and out of what you can slot if for, Defence seems to have the biggest increase when slotted, and even that is only by 0.5
This is what I consider the most useful PvP movement in the game for any attacking/damaging AT. If I do need to get up some where high, CJ aids me just fine. You can slide up almost anything; many players also have the new jumppack which is also ace when used with CJ. To chase someone with SJ on wont work anyway because after hitting them once, your SJ will drop for about 4 seconds and they can get away, get some Web Nades
SJ is suppressed when attacking, a huge end hog, and imo a wasted of a power.

Because zones tend to have a vertical component, Katana has no ranged attacks and the GvE jetpack isn't up often enough to catch kiters that will still outjump you even with SS + Hurdle + CJ.
Ideally you'll want *both* CJ and SS.

That pretty much rules out any Arena fights and Warburg, since Blasters and Troller/Defender combos are common in the arena and it's free-for-all in Warburg.
In BB and Sirens you won't have access to MoG, so that just leaves RV...
I've seen Stalkers that can AS through PFF in RV... and you're at 25% HP!
On the other hand in RV my Kat/Regen without MoG can quite happily survive being pummelled by a Villain, their Heavy and a Pillbox all at once. I've taken out a gang of a Stalker, two heavies and two Brutes before when DP and IH were running and I was spamming DA...
Fair enough, but personally with SS+Hurdle+CJ I've never found a need for SJ. Just get a few Web Nades or you can just stand under something so they have to move down towards you to attack. If you find it useful to have SJ in PvP as well as SS+Hurdle+CJ then so be it.
I do have SJ as well SS+Hurdle+CJ on my Blaster, and the only use I have for SJ is to avoid other players, not catch them, which I dont need to do with a Regen Scrapper.

Which PFF (Personal Force Field) are we talking about here, as MoG has more Defence than a Blasters and a Trollers PFF, and with DA or 2lucks on top of MoG then your hitting over a Defenders PFF and I very much double they will be hitting through that, without popping some yellows at least.
I believe MoG to be very useful in 1v1, anything else PvP its a big risk as you obviously dont know what else is going to come at you while fighting in the open of a PvP Zone. Ive used MoG in a good few Arena fights though, Fire/Kin Troller is a good example, with no Psi Epic. I got MoG in twice in a 10 min match without dieing. I think it was against Stalko-Bots Fire/Kin, I may be mistaken though, it could have been someone else.
I think its down to the individual whether they thing it worth having a power with is only useful probably in only about 20% of the situations you may find yourself in, but the way I see it is thats 20% situations more where you will most likely die or have to run away from with out having that power.
