All of TAs Dmg Resist debuffs are fairly weak alone. For example Disruption Arrow is only half as good at -DmgResist as Freezing Rain. But you have Acid Arrow too of course (which provides the other half of the -DmgResist to match FR). The strengths of TA are the low End & Recharge times. Disruption will be perma with 3 recharge SOs and will overlap with itself with Hasten thrown into the mix too.
My Dark / Sonics defender is still proving to be a blast. If only I could spare a few more Enhancement slots for Damage I'd be sorted,
The only defender I've ever taken past level 6 is Tempeste my Storm / Elec, because I usually prefer melee characters. She's currently at lvl 20 and is really something to behold when in full flow - not from the point of view of my skill particularly, but just the way the powers look and the effect it has on the mobs. You've gotta love it when a tank or scrapper gets in above his head and comes to rest inside your Hurricane.

My favourite is my kinetics/rad defender. Kinetics is well... everything you need, it'll keep you busy, can heal, refill endurance, speed you up and boost your damage! Radiation improves your to-hit ratio, besides a Fullcrum Shifted Irradiate can never go wrong!
I also have a emp/psy defender, but he won't get played anymore unless I can get him a viable PvP build.
Never tried sonic or storm, both need to be tried out!!

I got 2 defenders kin/rad (50) and rad/psy (nearly 50) and both have been awesome to play, great fun. The damage the rad/psi pumps out is insane.

Ive just rolled a Dark Dark Defender - ive toyed with most def primaries, but never getting that far (lvl21 Empath/Electric was the farthest). I must say that I am enjoying it loads! As someone said previously there is none of this 'HEAL ME' 'SB PLZ' etc. And well its kinda cool looking too 
My favourite lies with my first 50, FF/Archery.
A purely defensive build with medicine and leadership. Taking out any blasts meant i could concentrate solely on keeping the team safe, my only complain could be that with fully slotted bubbles the team stays pretty safe anyway!
I recently started a TA/A defender tho and it's been the most fun since that original toon. Standing back spamming debuffs into packs and dealing with stragglers with ice/acid and arrows is great fun. Plus i can run Super Speed permenantly if i'm not solo and still never run out of end!

Tried a couple of Defenders but i love my FF/Psi one most. Not that it rocks or such. I just love him. That simple. When i was thinking about buying game about 2 or 3 years ago it was my first build in a Hero Planner. And when i layed my hands on game in a month ago it was my first hero.
Maybe just because i based him on one of my best beloved comic characters. As i added invisibility on my power reportiere he is more than i can dream of. Like i always say; Gosh bless Mrs. Susan Richards.
I also kinda fond of Empathy but will never use it on a Defender. My troller with empathy is great. For a defender, bubbles only the way for me.
I love my TA/Archer, the animations aren't flashy yet, but they all gel so well and it looks good and plays good too.
