    Hello to RPers!

Hi, I am new to the RP thingie - i had a quick look under GG last night and although I was not too good at it, i found it an interesting experience and look forward to seeing you all again. Thank to Red Comissar for your guidance last nite. Also - i have writen a back story for my char Day Dream - feedback is welcome :-)
    Here goes -
Unlike most mutants, Emma Knight's powers showed themselves at a very early age. She became aware of her powers at the age of four, shortly after her mother died of cancer. She began to create illusions of a world where her mum was still alive and that everything was happy. She quickly withdrew into her own fantasy worlds leaving the real world behind.
Her mother’s death and the stigma of having a mutant child had a profound impact on her father, who began to drink heavily. He also began to verbally and physically abuse his daughter. Emma retreated further into her own worlds and this made her father worse.
At the age of sixteen, she decided that she needed to escape her home and her fantasy worlds so she ran away from home, heading for the big city to get a taste of real life. At first it was hard for her to adapt, but relying on her wits and her developing powers of illusion she became a very adept thief. This had the unforeseen effect of bringing her to the attention of a group of super powered assassins and criminals called ‘The Shadow Markers’ who realized that her powers could prove very useful. One night, they came calling – drugging her and taking her to their base just outside the city. It was here that Day Dream was born.
Force-fed a combination of hallucinogenic drugs and aggressive brain washing turned her from a quiet, introverted teen into a twisted machine of hatred. This coupled with extensive military training and their forced development of her powers turned her into a monster – the ideal assassin, innocent looking, highly motivated, highly aggressive mid power level mutant with the ability to force her nightmares into others minds, sending them insane or (more humanly) killing them through shock. She also developed the limited ability to create a psionic ‘safe haven’ around herself and others. While not perfect, this does offer some defense against various attacks. No longer was she Emma Knight, she was Day Dream.
She quickly became a top killer for the Shadow Makers – the agent that they would send in on their most difficult missions. That was until one ‘hit’ went very badly wrong…….
Day Dream was told to target a local drug baron calling himself ‘Shuggy Bonehead’ who was pushing Suparadyne onto pre teens and the Shadow Makers wanted a piece of the action. It seemed like a simple ‘in and out’ job. Unfortunately the details of the hit were leaked to Bonehead and his friends. They were waiting for Day Dream. She was ambushed by gunmen and trolls. Panicking, she released a HUGE burst of psionic energy, pushing her worst nightmares into their minds, making them cry like babies. However unknown to Day Dream, there were two children outside, they had arranged to by some Suparadyne form Bonehead. They too were caught in the psionic blast – one was killed instantly and the others mind was ‘washed clean’!.
Emma ran from Boneheads hideout, and saw the two bodies, one left cold, they other lying lifeless, yet alive. Realising what she had done it finally dawned on her what she had become – and broke down in tears.
She left the city and fled to Paragon City looking for absolution. On the run from the Shadow Makers who want their ‘property’ back, and fighting their ‘mind reprogramming’ she is waging a war against the type of people that the Shadow Makers had turned her into – murderers, thugs, thieves and villains. She is happy to use extreme force to bring them to justice with the ultimate aim of bringing down the Shadow Makers themselves. Her methods are often seen as highly dubious by some of the hero’s in Paragon.
Brooding, rude and often obnoxious, it is hard to remember that underneath is the heart and soul of a young girl, frightened and alone, still grieving for the loss of her mother and the loss of her childhood.

    Thanks again
    Emma
