2 new players looking for SG
I seem to remember a SG called "Heroes of Denmark", or something like that - not sure what server they are were on though, or who was in it - you could try searching for them on the list of SGs at City Hall.

You could do what I did in the beginning, team up with players, and if you meet people you like, /friend them to try team with them in a regular fashion. Invite them to your SG. Especially if they are new like yourself. Then discover COH together! I still think that if a player has time to chat a bit they are usually ok people
Thats how Goonies started out, although we founded the SG with a grp of 6 players iirc.

hello
My gf and i started playing CoH (and CoV) a couple of week ago.
when we hit lvl 10 (or rath i! as i spend more time playing and less time googling ) we made a SG.
we'r really enjoying this great game so far and want to make more ingame friends but it seems rather hard to get new members into a SG and that goes souble for us as we dont know a single soul in this game, have no experience what so ever, and have'nt figured out all the game mechanics yet
now we'r talking about abandoning our own SG and joining another one. the problem is... we don't know which one! (surprise!!!)
we have no demands and want no obligations (except to make a lot of new friends).
we play on union and mostly it's CoH (though we both have low lvl villains in-the-making).
we would like to join a danish SG (since that's where we live) so we could be in on any SG-members only RL- party/meeting/activity. but any nationality would be fine as it's really only about making friends ingame/online.
we can be contacted here or be found online as:
Throx (lvl 23 Magic Dark/Dark scrapper) currently doing talos and independence. <-- Me
Fireflayer (lvl 20 Magic Fire/Ice blaster) currently picking up leftovers in steel canyon and skyway. <-- my girlfriend

if building your own SG really takes your fancy , i would stick with it.
dont be presurised into thinkin you need an ubber 75 group SG
most 75 groups SG's have 65 people not playing
1st time round the block a cool group of 6-10 players plus a few alts will keep you goin.
try thinkin long term rather then a quick fix
Hiya Captain Lightspeed here of the Ghost Raven Super Group, My leader Prey is currently away and so I am currently looking after thing.
I'm always on the lookout for new members and anyone who may need some help with some basics etc.
If you are interested you can find me in atlas park by ms liberty most days in the evenings, or today 9/1/2006 6-7pm G.m.t.
send me a /t Captain Lightspeed should you need help or are interested, happy hunting.
Well my advice would be to keep the SG and make sure to get 15 members made up of your toons/alts on the server, that should get you started, with 2 of you you should begin to get use out of the base pretty quickly, though it will be just for storage and emmpowerments. Within 5 months you should have Teleporters and that's about the best PvE bits in a base, if you want to build for raid that'll take a lot longer.
Golden_Girl --> Heroes of denmark play on union. i've seen a few of them, asked some of them for advice, and been yelled at by one of them (long story). i will continue to speak with them when we meet, but i won't join them just because they'r from denmark. there has to be chemistry and i have'nt felt that yet.
Hammerfall --> the problem is that most of the nice people are already in a SG. but will give it a try
macmoo --> it's not like i WANT to have my own SG, i just thought it could be fun. the idea never was to be a big group, 6-10 ppl would be fine by me. but as it is right now we'r 2 ppl and one of us with a messed up computer (to put it nicely).
Cpt_Lightspeed --> thx for the invite. i'll probably come to atlas tonight for a little chat but don't know how much time i have.
Gravecall --> you make it sound so easy but i'm not known for my patience when it comes to computergames. patience is something i reserve for work and driving cars
All --> thx for the nice replies. if anyone has anything to add please feel free to post your opinion.
JBWarsmith out!
just to say welcome to the game that will ruin your life as you know it
shame i'm on defiant or would offer to team up
enjoy your stay
One solution is to run their own SG on Union, and join another one on Defiant

...or better yet! macmoo could join my SG on union (why do i have a constant urge to call it onion)

my happy family on defiant would never allow it
besides which i think i'm comin up to my third and final 50 , to which i shall be lookin for something new to play , whilst maintaining a part time role with my friends here on C O H(Defiant)
as for union (onions) theres plenty of cool people there it was the server i started on , ended up on defiant by accident heh
well one option is Joining TANC, we have branches on both Onion and Deviant (both games too) hero team every Thursday night (well two at the moment) and a vent sever for mad chattage while doing teaming in SG.
the global channel is open to Join it's called TANC, feel free to Join that first to Chat to the various members. we are mostly UK based, but we take people from anywhere, as long as you like tea.
no really, tea is important.
Tea's not just important. Tea is life.
DON'T eat muffins while I'm developing you.
Pants! Turkey Magnates! A man in a box! Rogue AI! Come one, come all, to arc ID 10107 - It's 'Not as long as some other arcs'!
pffft, foolish talk, tea is the drink of Kings! and Queens! and of TANC!
next you will be making foolish talk of not having a biscuit with a cup!
Mmm tea. Tea tea tea tea tea tea tea tea, wonderful tea!
Best drink in the world. Of course, I'm ever so slightly biased towards it, as it doesn't cause me death. Never a bad thing to be able to drink something hot in the mornings without suffering death as a consequence.

Is that real cookies, or generic "We shall call all biscuits cookies" cookies? I remember running an 'Ultimate Biscuit' poll on a mostly US forum, and 95% of people didn't know what the word 'biscuit' meant in that context.
Cookies as in...cookies - the things that aren't cakes

got you, i bet you don't even know what garabali are.
or dear, time for some education i feel.
P.S. Dear JBWarsmith, terribly sorry for taking this wildly off topic, it was most rude.
my aplogies.
having had WAY too much tea for the past month (actually ever since i started playing CoX) i'm back to drinking cappuccino. but to answer your original question: yes, i do like a good cup of tea.
as for the off topic... well tea IS important! but then again so is coffee and cappuccino (and BEER!!!!)

LOL! So true. One of the most active SGs I've ever seen is my alt group, The Defiant Saints. We play a couple of times a week and always have between 5 and 8 people playing (our group is only 8 strong!). We ONLY play when we can all get together and that works really well.
My suggestion is to forget the idea of the huge "Army SGs" and find a few friends of around 5 or 6 people, form an SG and just play through the game that way.
In comics, only the Justice League (and possibly the Avengers) ever came close to having a massive army of people. Most comic teams are between 5 and 8 people ... coincidence? :P
Tea is a more refreshing relaxing drink.
Coffee an CoX well thats a highly charged combo of addictiveness , throw in a few biscuits and the weekend be gone before you know it
I would just like to plug archies avengers a good friendly sg with a core of 10 realy active members. We are always on the look out for new friends The sg is run by @gord and @nursy bf and gf.We also have another couple who play but take turns with there toons as they only have 1 pc and can't justify the expence of 2. we have a website/forum for planning tf's and we have 2 alt's sg's archies alts and a themed (sort of) sg Chip 'n' Dales this we only use when there is 6 or more on just to mess around on. My chip's alt is called kinky archer just so's you get the idea ( kentics archery sets hence the name . We are also in quite a large coalition with plp from an origanal sg that kind of died out (S.A.A.L.) There are meny good sg's out there as there are meny good plp playing CoX and you have been give the best advise already play with plp you enjoy talking to and eventualy you will either expand your own sg with plp you like or join 1 with plp you like in. What ever you do just enjoy
oh and my global is mad mud
