Some excellent combos include:
Fire/Dark, Ice/Dark, Sonic/Dark, Rad/Dark
Fire/Kin, Ice/Kin, Sonic/Kin, AR/Kin
Fire/Thermal, Ice/Thermal, Sonic/Thermal
Fire/Rad, Ice/Rad, Sonic/Rad, Rad/Rad
Fire/Cold, Ice/Cold, Sonic/Cold
AR/Traps for concept.
All of those should be able to solo and team pretty well - the thermal and colds really could do with teams in the lower levels.
Best bet is to try a couple of different things, and see what fits your playstyle.
Assuming you are on Union, the 1AT coalition of villainy is fairly active, and coalitioned with some cracking VGs, including EVIL and Bloodline - the Corrosion Rangers would be your home in the 1AT, or you can join the Pirates of the Apocalypse, the affiliated and rather marvellous pirate VG.
In either event, we'd be happy to give you a home where you can ask for advice, or demonstrations of certain combos at higher levels while you experiment - just give me a holler if that sounds like a plan
where is the love for dark/dark? it's a good control set and does great in both teams and solo, providing you actually get teh right powers.
energy/kin is a goood choice but a very challenging set to play.
Heh - whilst I love dark miasma, dark blast just doesn't shake my maracas - superb controlly playstyle, but it doesn't feel as dynamic as fire/ice/sonic/rad in my personal opinion.
A very good combo, but to be honest, pretty much anything is a good combo, 'cause corruptors are just awesome!

Ive tasted some corrs and I could say to u that this AT is really awesome. U will be looked for teaming almost everytime u arnt in a team, and of course u can play as a damage dealer (more like a blaster), or more like a supporter (more like a defender), or be both of them...
From my experience, I have discovered that ice/ is the best set for me, but this is just for me. Try out other sets and get ur own opinion.
For the secondaries, I have tasted some of them (not all), and again, the one I love is kinetics, for the way it makes my team a boom-xperience-tastic...
Try out some sets and see what u like more. BTW, FreshHunter is ice/kin lvl36 and she is in the corrosion rangers, so look for us whenever u want.

gimme a reason why energy combined with rad would be a good team choice...one of the only aoe's you have (not including powerpush) splits all your enemies...ice cones or fire aoe/cone damage work much better then ...I'm not saying its a bad choice...no sir ..but there are much better combo's for in teams

It is the knockback that you would choose it for. A good player uses the knockback to their advantage (as you no doubt know), solo KB can be the difference between planting and not, keeping that boss on his backside is priceless. In a team you can use the KB to know mobs back into your aoe debuffs. One thing I don't like are energies aoe's; I just don't find the KB uselful enough (maybe to buy yourself a few seconds, but that's it really).
It is a good combo, but takes skill.
The KB doesn't offer enough to justify taking the set IMO tho', you can get more control out of other primaries.
/agree with MaX, for example, Ice/ has 1 fast activation hold 2Mag, and if u have hasten, u can permaheld a boss spaming the hold, and in the recharge time, spamming the attacks. Well, maybe u should be a kinetic to get more recharge time, or a /rad for his AM, but that always works for me.
Also u can pick ur 2nd hold and use it as an opener and spam the 1st hold to make faster the job (but u have to grabb another power, and that one isnt fine for me)

If u can be bothered to knock em out of ur debuff then run around and knock em back into ur debuf go for it, but its better to just keep em still.
Ive played an Ice/dark to lvl24 and its really a good combo... think about tar patch + ice storm (3dmg slotted)...
Also, get Darkest night as a good dmg mitigator, and the heal is really awesome, the highest heal with the kinetic one...
In the counterside, i think /dark has a little long time activations for me... But thats just an opinion...

Why not the cone, Frost Breath, for Ice? Frost Breath is exactly the same power as Fire Breath, except it does about 25% less damage but slows them down too.

I would only consider fire breath coz fire has the fireball and the rain, and u can add there a bit more of AoE... In ice set, it isnt usually enough frost breath plus the rain to kill all of them, it always seems like u need another AoE power...
Thats why i dont bother with frost breath... Although i do preefer the ice set for the single target attacks and for the slows/holds it offers...
Of course, we havent said nothing about the activation times, that both seems to be neverendless animations...
ice/therm and ice/cold are great sets
also AR/Dark is a really impressive combo, serious control, serious damage. Let a brute take alpha, fearsome stare, tar patch, flamethrower then full auto, cue mwahahaha's. I can solo any relentless mission on mine including EBs and excluding AVs

fire/dark is an AoE killer in PVE also ice/rad is good solo.
ice/kin,ice/cold,ice/rad are all good in PVP

I have en/rad corr and do team a lot of the time as soloing is hard. I admit it was a mistake for my first character on the game, but im going to persevere and get him to level 50
I like the look of ice/rad for my next character though
My Ice/Rad can solo kill absolutely anything short of Heroes/AV's, without sweating it, it's almost too easy...
Huge ST dmg good -def +slow / AE combos, great nuke, EMP, AM....it has everything you could need except a snipe
And of course, Freeze Ray. Stupidly low level, costs almost no end, fast activation, and can hold Heroes/AV's from personal experience (Positron, Woodsman can attest to this hehe).
It simply owns.
Well, my favourites are ice/rad, fire/dark and anything/kin. I really enjoy playing my sonic/kin. He is a noisy AV-Killer!

I have a few corrs and the one I like the best by far is Dark M / Traps...
Traps is awesome in base raids (well defending anyhows) lay your traps and watch them teleport right on them BANG!!!
Problem with /traps is that it is too passive for almost anything other than base defense. In normal circumstances by the time the /traps corruptor has his tools set up the /kin, /dark and /rad corruptors have killed anything that could step onto them and moved to the next spawn.
(On top of that the terms "Dark Misma" and "damage" are mutually exclusive. )

I'm thinking of playing quite a bit on COV after giving it a wide berth - don't know why, just hasn't floated my boat as much as COH - anyhoo...
What is the general consensus of the best corrupter power sets - or would you all say its a case of try n see what i like ? - whats good for soloing / teaming, etc?
