As I currently can't get into CoH due to technical problems, I decided to do a build for my Ar/En Blaster.

Anybody who tells me to remove M30 Grenade will be exterminated.

Move Buckshot and M30 to later, pick up sniper and flamethrower pre-20 instead. (Well, the smartest thing to do would be dropping M30, but... )
Drop beanbag, get ignite instead, or if you really want control, stun.
Drop stealth, get boost range. Then get something useful at 49, like whirlwind
Maybe drop EndRdx and recharge from burst, it's not too big of an attack.

I'm surprised there's no inclusion of Stun for a Beanbag+Stun guaranteed boss disorient.

Not from my experience, but it's enough to dizzy Lts - much like Taser from /Devices. Total Focus has a chance (80%?) to crit to disorient Bosses, however.

Powerboost -> beanbag
Hasten + 2/3 recharge in beanback = perma stun boss.

And if you plan ignite on teambased, just kick any knockback powered toon in the team.. because it wont work. I got AR/ice so both imm as icepatch, you can control ignite yourself rather then relying on a team. (cause the radius of ignite is serious small).

Cryo Freeze i would go 2xAcc/2xRech/2xHold, overtime that seems most cases best setup (specialy at the +2 lvl-ranges).

You still have to wait about 8 seconds for the boss to be stunned, though; with /En, he should be nearly totalled in that space of time.

The character is already level 6, so Buckshot's been picked. I'll swap Bone Smasher and M30 around, and then switch M30 for Sniper Rifle.

I've only ever heard bad things about Ignite, due to the fact that mobs always tend to run out of the area of effect, and although I'm sure I'll be teaming with your TA/Psi quite a bit MaX, I can't guarantee it, which means a lack of Immobilisation.

Stealth was literally there just to fill a hole, I was unsure about whether Boost Range was actually *that* useful for anything other than really-long Sniper shots, but I'll pick it up now anyways.

I've did a 8team respec mission yesterday with my AR/ice, on the team was a AR/nrg also. There is a massive difference in playstyle, /ice can focus more on the ignite/flametrower combo, while the /nrg has the awsome melee damage powers (and its disorient).

Boostrange can be usefull too with Fullauto and flametrower, it also boost cone range.

Don't drop the grenade! You'll miss out on all those lovely orange numbers. Also, I've found that AR snipe isn't that good, stick a couple of range enhancements in Slug and you've got an uninteruptible snipe.

He has boostrange anyway, surely he doesnt need those range-enh I do prefer Snipe though, buildup and a 2 interupt-enh it does often a 1-shot kill.

And even if it was pants, i would still keep it just for the echo'ing sound.

like you i only ever heard bad things about it, but i took it when i noticed on test its auto-hit much like burn from the fire tank set. huge huge huge DoT, never misses, tiny end cost and almost instant recharge. and as if thats not enough! only slots you need to make this as good as can be are 2 extra damage slots.

i've found it incredibly handy when teamed with tanks conts and some types of defs (namely those with slows). also ignite is very handy at taking down any MoGed or other annoying effect down (protectors for instance) and wonderful against an AV. i really dont know why it gets a bad rep handy as a panic button when soloing if those mobs just arent leaving u alone put this down where you are standing voila! off they run

agree with max about sniper rifle and boost range (and m30 grenade ) both are incredibly handy on teams and solo, well in just about any instance i can think off.


you might want to take a look at this saw this after i made my Ar/eng but sums up my experiences so far!

I can say 99% sure ignite isnt a Auto-hit. Facing purple mobs i saw a 2-2-2 once in a while, but far from doing sortlike on a grey mob (some do state it has a extreme acc boost). Makes sence, since ignite accepts acc-enhancements, wich auto-hit powers dont. I went for acc/3dmg/1range/1recharge.

So unless you can acces a hold/imm power (epic set), dont bother take this power, even in teaming.

In de line of knockbacks, i try to avoid all those powers, since i work with icepatch, chillbain and CE And most teams really cant appriciate knockbacks.. specialy the Granite tankers

yup i know this but as it cannot accept accuracy enhancers (much like a tanks taunt which if memory serves, the taunt effect becomes significantly less if you are trying taunt +8s for example) it will work on a sane lvl of enemies without any problems. maybe i should have warned _max_ not to try it on anything over 8+.....

[/ QUOTE ]I'm pretty sure it can accept accuracy. Also, taunt can now accept accuracy, for PvP purposes. And taunt's duration is lessened against high level foes, but that's just purple patch in effect, ALL power effectiviness is lessened when fighting high levels.

It mostly works to set up a big build up -> flamethrower -> full auto on large groups and do massive single target damage by blapping.

I think quite a lot over the power choices at 35 and 49 switching between ignite, burst, boost range and stun in different builds but currently I've moved stun back to level 49.

For your build I would move a recharge out of Full Auto since you already have hasten and after initial blast full auto doesn't work well on the non-stationary group of enemies. It's also pretty good at getting you dead. I prefer to use two flamethrowers per group because too much full auto drains my endurance very quickly.

I'd also recommend bumping some attacks further forward, especially your snipe and move the fitness pool back a little further since you already have conserve power and don't need to be as endurance conscious at that stage.

One of buckshot or M30 is alright, I liked the knockback on M30 before I went all blapperish, but I'd say replace on of the two with something else, maybe energy punch, stun or ignite. Ignite isn't the most useful choice but it probably is the most awesome and funriffic.

Also are stealth and invisibility PvP choices? If they're not for PvP or concept purposes then you can get much cooler stuff.
