Thats a brill pic nimmer. How much did it cost you?

The evil one is hilarious.

I've always been tempted to do this as well. Thing is, I can't really decide on what type of art to pick. I always really like the sketch look, but then again I also like the full color thing. With the sketches though, i could get multiple characters drawn maybe.

the fact that colour is over 4times the sketch price made my mind up gonna get an inked version of shaman soon i think

I think i'll get a sketched version of Mesmer then. Maybe one of Grasshopper Boy, because he just looks cool . Do you think it's possible to get a sketched inked and coloured when you feel like it?

Posted

yea u can update it whenever u like and i 4got to say im 99% sure if u get colour piece u get copies of previous stages,
i.e.
order colour and u get a sketch piece, ink piece and colour piece
order ink and u get ink piece and sketch piece
if that makes sense

I'd love to order a Fire Guardian/Jason Tucker colour print, but they're not taking orders right now. Instead, I went out and picked up two books how to draw comic book characters. They're both hilarious, although for different reasons.

rich?! u must b joking fruit flies have more money than me atm lol

but if u think that a comic is drawn each stage (sketch, ink, colour etc) by different people then the same comic is sold to thousands of people. whereas this is 1 guy doing all stages which can only ever be sold to 1 person. therefore i think the prices are pretty reasonable

I sent an e-mail off to MMO Art a few minutes ago, and got a reply back within a few minutes. Nice people. Anyway, they won't be accepting any more commissions until the 1st of August.

i sent them several e-mails while my piece was being drawn and always had a response in literally under 5minutes, very very good customer service

This'll save me shooting off loads of e-mails to you guys. Welcome to the forums! I'll be commissioning a piece when the revamped site goes live again, and I was wondering, what's the general process of drawing the pictures?

Keep up the good work Bill

Fire_Guardian that sounds great and I look forward to working with you!

The first step of the drawing process is the rough sketch. This is to map out what either the client or I have in mind for the character pose, overall composition, and background if there is one. After the client approves that I do the complete pencil piece. From there the piece is inked. I then scan it into Photoshop or Painter and add the colors.

The process for a digital painting is a bit different though. There is still a rough sketch that turns into the completed pencil, but the image is not inked. The completed pencil is scanned in, and all of the details are added by using values and colors just like real painting on canvas. This method is a bit more complicated as you dont have solid ink lines to establish everything.

I hope that gives you a better idea of the process, and if there is anything you would like me to elaborate on, I would be more than happy to

Frazzle_d, I will do my best, but only if you call me Gill not Bill.
