3vP Week One - Union Discussion
First off, really enjoyed both my matches.
Thanks to the guys I teamed with and against(both in the case of divinedarkness as I fought then allied with her )
Apologies to Blindfaith in the second as we mercilessly made her priority target
Big thanks to Israfel, Awn and Blindfaith though for allowing us to restart after the first DC.
Also, thanks to xanthus and Cap Morgan for arranging ti. The random teaming wasn't as tough as it could have been and showed it is more down to skill and teamwork than builds. Thought I was in for a definite ganking in the second as the only squishy with all those AS's and spines going around and went from cursing the draw to realising almost any three can win with the right tactics and teamwork
Here's looking forward to weak two!
hehe it wasn't bad, a new type of tournament, anyways some teams where teamed up with the same guys from another team... how was that possible? anyways was cool but short... where can we see the tournament matches lists and wons?
Not had that much fun in a while on CoH, thanks to the organisers, I hope you got all the round info needed for round 3.
Looking forward to it a lot.
Great fun tonight, thanks to guys I teamed with!
It felt so wrong killing the poor squishies again and again ......

lol, send them to me for advice. I was the only squishy against two stalkers and a spine regen and got comments on my play.
Not on how good I was but on how much of a cowardly runner I was
Cowardly running FTW!
"RUN Kin RUN!!!" Shouted down Team Speak
In both rounds, i ended up with one more troller (i'm also a troller) and a damage dealer. i lost, obviously, fighting against 3 damage dealers will get me no where.
@Double
Double Flame 50 fire/devices
Double Shade 50 tri-form warshade
Double Light 50 dwarf-human peacebringer
Double Control 50 earth/rad
Anyone know any details of the matches I was subbed for? Would be interested to know.
Thanks for all who subbed for me. But there'll be no need next week
Was a good night, despite the 2 game loss, it was pure chance the way the teams worked out.. some good others not so good. but that is the nature of this type. and while I like and praise the ability to adapt..some team setups were our of reach of a victory by a mile somewhat....however Im not bitter as I still enjoyed myself..so on that note....
gratz to all that beat us.. was a wealthy victory.
good luck in the next round..
aye, pure controller (or at least major controlling) teams dont really work in arena if you dont have any form of damage. Seeing 1 bf will keep you protected for a fair share of the match, unlike damage where you need to keep poppin respites like crazy.
"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"
Total Cat @Stagefright
Should have seen Kaya, Elistan, and Pyropos the squishies took revenge
thePhilosopher Martial Arts/Regen/Fire Scrapper
theRegulator Empathy/Energy/Soul Defender
Total Inertia Ice Blast/Kinetics/Psy Corruptor
Total Inferno Ice Blast/Thermal/Leviathan Corruptor

3 trollers is a good combo, but it really requires people who know how to use them.
A Paragon Defender
good combo sure, but if you cant lock em down while they CAN do damage you still are pretty fked.. point is in this tourney I dont expect many builds geared for PvP.

Yup, pick on the squishies seemed to be the majority tactic. Hence the 15 deaths for me (tank being the other 2! ) in the second round.
.. and i7 comes with no permaholds so.. yay Tankers vs Scrappers!

Well, at least trollers cant after the first hold, they break free and it says unaffected if u try to hold again for 10 seconds

no team cud have beaten them with the tactics they used, which was a bit unfair as pyro wudnt say what his sets were as he was a last minute replacement
still i'd probably have fought the same as them, if they came out of the hurricane they wud have been pwned lol

I made a point of insisting any subs we had/fought made their sets common knowledge before agreeing to start the fight.
A bit unfair in that all powersets had to be publicly declared on sign up for a sub to then come in and refuse to say what they were.
I know it's a reasonably minor point but the choice of sub in one of my matches forced me to completely dump my insp tray, replace them and come up with new tactics.
Maybe me over-reacting but given efforts have been made to make the playing field as level as possible, I'd have refused to start the match and spoken with the judge beforehand as insp planning and discussion of tactics beforehand was pretty much key in both my matches.
Also completely defeats the friendly and open manner it should have been fought in

Heh mainly because I completely forgot I had hibernate. Still we kicked total [censored] and I must say thanks to both teams for the great support. It was made even more funny by the fact I was well on my way to being drunk while playing (hence the hibernate cockup).
Just thought I'd set this up so we can all discuss the first week of the Union matches.
