Do you want the bad news?

The Robotics primary set direct attacks do 2/3rds of naff all damage.

Even slotted with 3 damage.

I know. I've got em all and use em all.

Photon Grenade is occasionally useful when you get a disorient from it, so you might want to try and squeeze it in somewhere, but while it's a nice idea for a variant MM, you're likely to get mezzed through the Force Field Generator which will cut your damage output.

OTOH though, anything that attacks you will draw the ire of your bodyguards, so that should help matters a little.

I would think any MM primary attacks are weak damage (correct me if I'm wrong). I was using the Acid Morter to debuff resisance. Dark, Poison or TA might work better as secondaries, I think TA has the biggest possible resisance debuff.

I'm not really thinking of doing this, its intended as a discussion point.

I'd say /dark would be best, both from self protection and -res PoV.

I'd also be tempted to go with soldiers to get the medic.

I came up with the idea of a Blastermind when CoV beta had just started.

I think the idea could just work, and I foresee that a few people, myself included, might be interested in attempting to use a Thugs/ MM as a Blastermind to gain use of the Dual pistols.

As for survivability, it may be possible, but by no means practical, and is likely, if I create one, to be my 'joke' character, or for RP purposes.

(Watches as it levels faster than anything other character)

Yes I went with robots because I wanted the Protectors shields to maximise defense, since this will protect both the MM and his bodyguards. However /dark should have a similar effect.

/TA would probably give you the best damage (I get about -40% res), but then you would need to take ninjas to avoid constantly having to redraw your bow, and since ninjas prefer melee it would be harder to keep them close.

this build looks great - i'll follow this build for my thugs mm but maybe take SS over teleport.
unless tp really is fantastic and i'm just paranoid over taking it

Unless they change the pets AI in I7 TP is very useful to unstick your pets when they get stuck on/in scenery.

seconded, except i'm not taking the first or second tier pets - just the third one to act as a comrade in arms.

(and perhaps gang war, for the hell of it)

exactly. with ss as well, you can get places quickly and transport the rest of the group over.

Except that most, if not all of the Rogue Isles has a significant vertical component to any travelling you're likely to need to do, and Grandville looks like being the worst of the lot, so if you're looking for a power to get places fast which isn't teleport, then Superjump or Fly would be far better choices IMO.

Admittedly, you're most often going to need to TP your pets around whilst in mission, in which case, SS would be a reasonable choice, but frankly, it would make your life hell outside missions.

Just my 0.02 inf.

No tp with MM? its burns! I didnt have it a and let me see oh yeah, where the hell is my Assualt Bot? suck in a damn wall.

Btw SS without a power to gain height is a pain, u get stuck trying to jump over a hedge

i've read that you will not need a vertical travel power to navigate grandville. can't remember where, and of course it'll help to have one, but it's a case of fitting it in

You wont need one, although it might make things easier, but then again that applies to all zones.
