Vultures

So tonight for the first time I was in a big villain team in Sirens and it was a grand night of pvp’ing. The battle went one way then the other.

At one point my team held the middle of Sirens. The heroes would wash up against us and be broken. It felt great .

My character, GenericVillain1008 (I want my name back!), was a therm corruptor so I was healing and buffing. And I noticed that apart from the eight of us in the team we had collected three or four orbiting stalkers.

The heroes would attack and it was like we had an ace up our sleeve as large numbers of stalkers appeared from the shadows and in the confusion wrecked havoc on the enemy.

And all I could think were, they’re like vultures. They can smell the carrion. They flocked to where the predators (my team) were hunting and swooped in for the kill.

It was really cool. I may even start a stalker of my own just because I really liked the imagery of the battle.

p.s. yes I know some people complain about kill stealing but everyone was getting kills and the action was so fast that I can’t imagine anyone begrudged a kill.

p.p.s I almost hurt myself laughing as my one attempt to use jokey trash talk in broadcast was followed almost immediately by a well organised team of heroes exploding amongst us (group tp? Along with a blaster nuke maybe, was bloody effective whatever it was), which saw me dead in seconds. Let that be a lesson, don’t trash talk about heroes mothers.

Had a quality experience tonight. Popped into Warburg to do a few missions and noticed a fair bit of fighting going on. At first I ignored it, going my way inbetween the missions, but then I saw a lowely stalker by himself, so being me, I used Aim+BU+Bonesmasher, knocked his SR toggles off and killed him. I went about my ways again doing my miss's.

After the next miss, I stopped on the way to another one to speak in SG chat, I saw a move flash in my buff bar, I quickly tryed to jump away, but too no avail. The Stalker tho, hadnt chose to AS me but too use a low damage stun, which left me disorientated. He stood there watching me walk about slowly in my zombie status (because I didn't have BF's) then, 2 other stalkers came along, they all went out of hide, and surrounded me. Using low damage attacks to pick bits of my health off at a time. I was thoroughly amused by this, as the cheeky lil [censored] had planned this out.

So in relation too Funky's first post, I agree with the stalker/vulture comment. But not in a bad way, I find it amazingly fun to watch.

(Btw, they killed me in the end )

regarding the vulture comment the same can be said for almost any AT, during the time that is being discussed I swapped and formed part of the hero team that invaded the villain grouping, it seemed that once we had made our move more "heroes" came in taking advantage of the chaos, hiding in our aoes and picking of villains with opportunistic strikes.

While I think the stalker AT should be doing things like that I dont think it is becoming for scrappers to be picking around the edges of a controller teams carnage. Funny thing was most of the "hangers on" were not even in the zone when we started.

I personally think stalkers are more like raptors from jurassic park.

At least that's what goes in my head as I'm bouncing round sirens with the rest of the 'pack'

Good stalkers are like raptors; bad stalkers are like headless chickens.
