So tonight for the first time I was in a big villain team in Sirens and it was a grand night of pvp’ing. The battle went one way then the other.

At one point my team held the middle of Sirens. The heroes would wash up against us and be broken. It felt great .

My character, GenericVillain1008 (I want my name back!), was a therm corruptor so I was healing and buffing. And I noticed that apart from the eight of us in the team we had collected three or four orbiting stalkers.

The heroes would attack and it was like we had an ace up our sleeve as large numbers of stalkers appeared from the shadows and in the confusion wrecked havoc on the enemy.

And all I could think were, they’re like vultures. They can smell the carrion. They flocked to where the predators (my team) were hunting and swooped in for the kill.

It was really cool. I may even start a stalker of my own just because I really liked the imagery of the battle.

p.s. yes I know some people complain about kill stealing but everyone was getting kills and the action was so fast that I can’t imagine anyone begrudged a kill.

p.p.s I almost hurt myself laughing as my one attempt to use jokey trash talk in broadcast was followed almost immediately by a well organised team of heroes exploding amongst us (group tp? Along with a blaster nuke maybe, was bloody effective whatever it was), which saw me dead in seconds. Let that be a lesson, don’t trash talk about heroes mothers.

So I’ve just finished a respec attempt. I don’t think “fiasco” would be too mild to describe how it ended. Anyway I really need that respec so if anyone is planning on doing a respec mission and have room for one more please let me know. My villain is a level 38 Brute called Infinity Man. My global is handle is Funky Dragon.

Speaking as a lvl 50 Ice/FF controller I can tell you - terrible. Till you get your epics, then you become a WMD!

Well the key is building fury fast, and thinking about it I may be an attack short for a good chain. I may have to fit something like barrage into the build.

I find Total Focus too slow to count as my "build fury" chain, and I don't use it most times till I have some decent fury built up. Same with Energy transfer.

Once Fury is up and running I use those two powers to annihilate the enemy. Of course in PvP it’s the other way around - I tend to forget about fury because it’s bloody hard to build against other players - so I use my high damage attacks as often as they cycle around, often ignoring my faster attacks.

What travel power would you recommend? In the above build I could just swap fly with superspeed I suppose.

Designed for PvP and PvE – so I had to make a few compromises.

My own comments:
After looking at the figures I decided that energy res powers just aren’t worth it. The only way they might be worth it is if you take Tough, which I just couldn’t fit into the build.

I really wanted to get a heal, mainly for PvE as I find that I can easily get endurance back but low health often forces me to rest (and lose Fury).

I didn’t take Conserve Power in my current build, but the more I think about it, taking it should mean I can swap out the End reduction slots in all my attacks with Recharge Reductions – which I hope will equate to faster Fury build up.

This build is squishier than my current one, but not by that much. (I didn’t realise just how little bang for buck you get trying to build up /nrg resistances until I did a bit of research online).

So what do my fellow SMASH lovers think?

WW makes for a cool transformation sequence between costume changes.

Yes this is the only reason my controller took it - that and you can fly and spin at the same time which looks mad.

Goodness they seem to be letting any old scallywags into our elite 50club nowadays. Shocking!

Me and a few friends have started a villain supergroup which is now recruiting.

Our SG is new and consists of low level players at the moment, so it makes a great place to start a new character.

The only requirements are that your character fits the theme, which is ex-soviet/coldwar “heroes”. The in-character purpose of the sg is to be the core of a new extremist communist movement actively seeking to bring down the democratic countries of the world (and their so called heroic defenders), and ushering in a new era of Communist peace and prosperity.

Out of character we just want to group, chat and have fun while helping each other progress through the game.

We’re not too picky on how close you are to our theme as long as you make some effort.
