Ooh, you get ten points and a Parrot badge if you give some more details

Did you build domination during the fight or before it?
How long did the fight take?

Just curious. I love dominator PvP success stories since we're supposed to be such underdogs one-on-one.

The timestamp is there in the quote - says about 4 1/2 minutes. Domination was flatlined at the start, once built up & triggered it was all over. I think we were about the same level, we just happened to be the only ones in Warburg so we went toe to toe. Certain builds are going to be more vunerable, he did have TP but even so my slows/knockdown/immobs were the reason I won (or avoid him for 4 minutes, KO him in 30 seconds).

1v1s like this are pretty silly, although some people seem to think it's like a boxing match and want to compete like this. Once you work out you're the rock to the paper, you shouldn't stick around. Most blasters could flatten Bil easily. This is why the "real" environments like BB and Siren's are more interesting.

I am not surprised at this at all. have tried before with Pyrechill in a freindly one on one and came a lot closer than I expected to. this was without jack (below lvl 32) and some of the other powers mentioned because I am a two-respec-using power selecting fool - BUT it was a friendly set up and hardly a realistic pvp moment.. so good on this guy and nice to see another Ice/Fire Dom - I was beginning to wonder if i was the only one in the world! There used to be a 'Ragepaw' on defiant who was ice/fire too but he seems to have vanished

Well played Filth.

I've got the 400rep badge with Wamdue from many hours spent in Sirens, but I can't think of many non-squishies I've taken down.

Bilharzia? That sounds familiar.

I seem to remeber you taking me out a couple of times the last week.

I'm making a dom for our PvP VG. Would you recomend plat as a way to go? Bare in mind I have no problems with slogging through the lvls (50 lvls of DM/DA gives you all the patience in the world).

Go Dominators!

I was having the same feeling when we went on a 10 time domination in the Arena with 3 other guys. The scores went something like this

Me, dominator, 19 frags, having 3 lives left.
Corruptor, 8 frags, fought him till he died :P
Brute, 6 frags, he was dark melee so yeeh!
Mastermind, 4 frags, You can't do much with just 2 pets

We were all level 11 so I got my frags from my lovely skewer most of the time + DoT toxins.

Me versus a regen scrapper, oh well, I don't know, maybe a Spirit Tree so I get a high regeneration and don't know how useful Carrion Creepers are on 1 v 1 matches.

The good news is Plant Control is a lot of fun and fast for leveling largely because of Seeds of Confusion which with a good team will mean fast progress and it gets even better with Creepers+Seeds.

For PvP it does well enough, I think it's probably outclassed by Mind for control and Ice looks very good if you plan to spend PvP time in melee, which in fact you have to do to be fully effective as a Dom. Ice seems to have quite a bit of safety built in at close range which I'm fairly envious of, but I don't have experience playing.

Seeds of Confusion and Creepers are the standout powers for PvP (and pretty much PvE as well). The fact that you get Seeds early makes it unusual in the PvP zones, and has caused a few surprises when a Scrapper or Blaster has accidentally smoked a team mate "stop attacking me you tool you're confused" was a comment I saw hero-to-hero in local once

I don't know what you might be thinking for an assault set but looking at it I'm not sure Energy is tops (for once). At high level I've found Thorns a very strong set of attack powers but it's fairly weak around the mid levels until level 35. Impale is a very effective -Fly, immob attack in PvP.

Dominators in PvP ftw!!111

Myself and Bil have had many a hunting session in Sirens and I can't think of many ATs/Powersets that haven't been dominated

Not that I've done much pvp but I think Ice/ could be great and I'd like to suggest /Ice secondary as well. Slow and -recharge are pretty devastating, especially for melee toons, and Ice/Ice has spades of them. It's not going to be a damage king but it could really ruin someone's day. And Filth is right, Ice is pretty ideal if you want to go melee (and Ice secondary has Chilling Embrace, which helps even more).

I also think Arctic Air's confusion pulses could be pretty interesting in PvP. I need to take Jadis for a spin in Sirens one of these days.

Unstoppable Resist: Disorient, Hold, Immobilize, Knockback, Sleep (from Hero builder)
Notice the lack of Confuse (and Fear & Taunt)
Boy will he be in for a suprise.

Tip for PvP Confuse, Fear and Taunt are the 3 least resisted Mez's
Confuse is not so good on Vs melee as there's will not often be much in range but it's great on range attackers and especially debuffers/buffers, Nothing like haveing an Emp CM & regen you before figureing out what happend

And Intangibility is resisted more?

forgot about that one.
Does anything give Intangibility resistance?
Although it does have the down side that you cannot attack them... Here's an evil thought, needs team work, intang someone while your /traps friend lays down a mine field and the victum watches helplessly

Great story .

I've yet to claim my first Regen scalp . I came damn close though . I was trying out some team PvP in Warburg , and found a Regen/Katana had strayed from the main hub of chaos, so...bit my lip & Skewered him, & dropped Integration right down to around his ankles , & after spamming a series of 3 holds on him (Strangler, Vines, Strangler) I got stuck in with Ripper & Thorn barrage, with my drooling pet Fly Trap throwing in some more fire power for good measure. I think I put on another couple of holds to keep him nice & tight & got him ready for a killing blow,.... when his sneaky Regen & Blaster mates ganked the hell out of me .

What made it fun is, as I have a Regen Scrapper also, I know full well he would have been hammering that Reconstruction key until it was steaming .

Spurred on by this story & by Filth's own glory, I'm definitely determined to have my moment .
