What makes ma/regen a better build than bs/regen?

And i'm asking this from the distance, since I never really played a scrapper (my highest is somewhere around mid 20s), but, and I'd like all those people who say that ma/regen is the best scrapper build, what makes ma a better combo with regen?
For what I know, BS deals quite more dmg, at the cost of more endurance and slower recharge. But with stamina and quick recovery can't you just afford hasten? or even one slots of rech red? Besides bs pool has parry, which would fit nicely with tough. Am I missing something then?

Why would you believe that one */Regen is better than another */Regen ? They're just different.

MA and BS work for different things. IMHO, the best scrapper build is spines/regen, but they are all powerful, and excel on their own areas.

MA/Regen - Uber boss man killer.

BS/Regen - Uber Minion/Leut' killer (?)

Theyre both good in their own way.

[/ QUOTE ]BS is the highest possible damage output, and is also better with AoE than MA.

MA is more of a scraptroller.

Therefore making it a minion/leut killer.

[/ QUOTE ]Jus better than MA, but Not as much as spines, which is the true AoE scrapper. I believe claws also has better AoE than BS.

It does, but it's AoEs aren't as powerful as broadsword's.

At killing Bosses.

Broadsword kills bosses quicker, MA handles them better.

I dunno, Bou has Air Sup, headsplitter and the one that knocks them up into the air (Sorry, I forget!). I can control bosses just fine thank you. BS is easily the highest damage, but it's all S+L damage, but unless you're coming up against marauder praetorian AV when he pops unstoppable (total, complete, 100% S+L resistance) then it will outpower every other primary. A built up headsplitter with Critical will often completely floor a even level boss or LT. before ED I could 2 shot +2 lt's, 1 shot even level lt's, now I can't even 1 shot an even minion without a crit or buildup!

Parry can add some very useful Def to any build, but especially regen, where it would be especially useful.

I remember Rose Knight testing his attacks when ED came along at the end of S4. I think he felt like crying. He couldn't even chop a blaster or defender in half with it anymore, then again I did have body armour.

Hmm

Style beats power I'd say :P just my opinion

The main advantage MA/Regen has over BS/Regen in my mind is no weapon redraw after reconstruction/dull pain/air superiority/hasten/other click powers.

All true, but as a weapon set, BS gets an automatic accuracy increase to counter this.

BS gets 5% ACC Bonus und each attack and can give -5% DEF to a target with certain attacks.

MA gets 10% ACC Bonus on attacks.

Put simply if you want to take a target down quickly go BS if you want to kick it about a bit first go MA. Personally prefer BS, currently at 27 with my BS/Rgn, so some of my attacks are still 1x ACC 2/3x DMG. Yet I can still take down +1 minions in two shots, and I'm not forever running after things I've just hit. Only things I have issues with are the damn robots, council mechmen and clockworks etc. Everything else so far has been easy. I have hasten but not AS (would like it but the redraw is a total pain).

krunch dude, broad sword must be THE boss killer, its attacks r way stronger, it has a very powerful EXTREME dmg attack where as MA has a meh supior attack (which broad sword also has a nice supior attack) meaning that i would rather take on a +2 boss with bs RATHER THAN ma

Yeah its good for boss killing for sure or rather single target attacks. And of course the old thing of personal preference. I see Spines/Regen very effective but I made MA/Regen because that is what I wanted. Sod the uber builds. Me and Mighty Saguaro have teamed plenty of times. We whooped and power debted and whatever we felt like. I dont think with regard to PvE either has outclassed the other. Same can be said for any good scrapper who teams with another good scrapper player.

I started knowing nothing about this game and played my way and took tips to improve my build. When I wanted to I even asked for tips particularly around nerf times. I got some fantastic tips that made great sense but thing was some of it wasnt good for me . Have a play and find your style, tae the advice that you think is right for you.

I would feel safer having disorientated him, slowed him, generally >censored< him before I took him on. Oh and focus chi-Eagles Claw, not only awsome damage, he's disorientated too!

Oh and your sig shows youve played neither.
