Hide - working as intended?
WAI. Ambush types have always had a habit of ignoring Concealment type powers. It was irritating in CoH, and it's till irritating.
That said, some of the mobs in CoV come running up to were you did something telling you you're going to be cut into small bits... and then stand around looking for you, unable to see you. That's an improvement.

Not sure if it's bugged or not but what I have seen is that if there is no direct line of sight betwen you and the ambush spawn, they tend not to see you when your hidden. If there is a direct line of sight when they spawn, they tend to see you even if hidden.
I think you'll find that the security gaurd Lt's have Tactics.
I used to have a similar problem with my Mastermind. Not sure if its still the same but on heist missions the ambush parties would ignore the pets and head straight for me. I personally think the AI calls for the ambushers to attack the player and therefore Hide/Skirmish Screen of minions isn't taken into account.
As I said not sure if its still the same though - haven't had a Bank Heist mission in a while.
The most annoying example of this is a bank job with a large team. I think the guards go for the mission "owner". If it's you, and you're a stalker, you're in big trouble. There's not much room to hide in the bank maps, and when a large number of RIPs comes running and shooting, ignoring Hide, it gets quite bad.
PS. Is it me, or do those guards have an insane hatred towards only one person? I remember playing as my corruptor in a small team: a group of guards comes running, and start to shoot one, while the rest of the team begins whooping the rest... but ALL the guards were shooting at me, like I was the only one there.
I don't think it's a bug, but merely that in bank missions everyone gets treated the same; in that way that if any other AT would be where you were, guard would attack that AT as well. Mobs always run to your position when ambushing, though some will move to your last unhidden location and remaining passive to you. Notice that some mobs do have truesight, IE are able to see through ANY concealment.
Oh and if you're a stalker, why the hell are you doing a bank job with a team?

Probably because it takes too long to solo a bank raid with a stalker. You get within spitting distace of the vault and mobs start to spawn at a rate that a stalker simply can't cope with. When I'm soloing, I spend more time cowering outside on the doorstep recovering than I do actually fighting on these missions. And when I go back in the whole lot are standing at the door and start pounding on me the second I step into the room, they can see right through hide so it's a matter of killing what you can then escaping again for another rest. Zero fun but since the missions are largely unavoidable we have to just get on with them.
Stalkers are built for hit and run tactics. Unfortunately those tactics are useless against a whole map that can see you (apart from the run bit). It seems that the instant you step into the vault your stealth switch gets flipped off even for mobs that spawn elsewhere in the place while you are hidden. It is annoying and wastes time.
This only seems to happen in bank raids though, on raids on casino's and such place the mobs run to your last visible location so you can behave like a true stalker in those missions. My view is that the bank raids are broken
I just started out a Stalker a few nights ago, and have noticed one thing with heists where the guards always seem to rush the door; if I actually manage to get a few yards away from the doorway, the guards seem unable to spot me - its as if they are homing in on my starting spawn point, and if the toon is not there, they just stand there totally confounded
Personally, I think the AI was never coded to work well with Hide. Seems to me that the programmers made it so that if you're hidden, mobs can't target you. But once a mob DOES target you, your on your own... which is never a good thing for a stalker.
Only thing they forgot, are missions where mobs have you targeted at the very start. Or the fact that you need to run through 1/2 the map to loose aggro so you can hide properly again. Well, basicly, they forgot about everything else.
PS. I don't think it's really related to hide, that on some missions, the ambushes will rush the last known position and wait there. I've had the same happen to my corruptor. I destroy/steal some item, and I see the general "Get him" bubble, I would hide behind a pillar or someplace far from where the stolen/destroyed object was. The mobs would also run there and then stand confused-like, and I don't have Hide on my corr.

BS. I can usually do one within 5 mins solo, 10-15 if extra guards spawn or if there is a bug so the guards you have to fight don't spawn until you've cleared all the normal guards.

I havent played much as a stalker but have Jinxter up to level 13 now. Now the thing I find a bit strange is that Hide doesn't allways hide me! This is especially true for ambushes in banks, ie the security guys that comes after (and sometimes before!) you have opended the vault. They just come straight at me and starts shooting even though I am hidden. This would be ok, I guess, if this was the case all the times but when given the mission to hit Blackbeards Tavern (Port Oaks me believes) the ambushers didn't see me when hidden.
I've had some anomalies like this in standard missions too but the above outlines my question - is Hide working as intended or is it bugged?!
