Travel Power
If you only want to use your travel powers for travel, then once you have SOs Siphon speed (slotted for accuracy & recharge) and inertial reduction (1 slotted for jump or recharge) certainly can fit the bill - these are not suppressed either, so have other uses in play.
If you want any other power in a travel pool (TP Foe, Hover Or acrobatics for example) then it may be worthwhile (indeed necessary) to pick one.
3 slotted hover with siphon speed works just fine for my Kin defender, along with inertial reduction.
On my /kin corruptor (that has the same power progression as your controller) I took superspeed, but only so I could use it in conjunction with stealth - Kinetics don't really need any travel pool (in my opinion) and I normally only take one if, as I've said, I need it for a secondary effect/to open up another power in that pool.
((You will miss occasionally with siphon speed - fact of life. That's one reason why I also take IR))

personally i like SS for my ill/kin. That way I still have a guaranteed travel power and the advantage of inertial reduction (once you get it) to ascend to those hard to reach places
SJ sounds very attractive, cause its fast, and its just cool to jump enormous heights. Fly is just a reliable travel power, looks good with capes . Im pretty much doubting between SJ en Fly. The Sup. Invis makes SJ even better i guess. Tho, Inertial Reduction is just as good as SJ, except for the fact it lasts for 60 secs.. But IR is a power that becomes available at alot higher level then 14. Can Speed Boost be cast on yourself btw?
Unfortunately not. I've had fly on my controller and only picked up siphon speed with my issue 6 respec. I'm tempted to pick up inertial reduction in place of fly when I next respec and rely on siphon speed for low level zones, inertial reduction for high level zones where my chance of hitting with siphon speed is low and then I'll have siphon speeded hover available for in-mission manouvering

Seras has tp as i find this most useful in fights aswell as gettin around, it also means i can have recall friend without gettin it as an 'added xtra'. In fights tp means i can get off of caltrops/quicksand and heal those in trouble much more effectivley if they r out of range (fire/ice tanks hu insist on herdin half the map unsure if they can actually handle the dmg for xample) and recall friend is always usful for a quick res. Granted..it is a slight end hog but once u get stamina and 2 slot end reduc u should be fine.Blind is also a good power to use after a tp into mob, swith on invis>tp>blind>tp out> pets mop up while u do ranged and the team take em out.
Definatly go for Superjump, no doubt about it.. Acrobatics is essential for the unshielded AT and with this in mind i see no use for Inertial Reduction as SJ comes before. I always build using this policy and have never taken Inertial Reduction. However, Siphon Speed is worth getting just for the increased recharge. This can also act as a travel power with your superjump.
And hey.. You dont have to keep recasting Inertial Reduction on those long travels

What, for the crappy hold resistance? Hold resistance I can drop in one hold?
If you're going PvP, hover/fly is your best choice. Stay in the air and you'll make mincemeat out of anyone without range. It also means you can get up high and drop your pets onto the heads of unsuspecting mobs.
Superjump is nice, but don't take it to get acrobatics. You don't need the resistance and you never will.
why bring PvP into this? Normally im talking about.. PvP builds are different from normal missioning builds. Trust me.. if u aint interested in PvP (like me) get SJ and acrobatics
I still think you're wrong. If you're PvE'ing, you shouldn't ever have enough aggro to be held. Acrobatics is not neccesary for a controller, and you're wasting a power. End of discussion.
I'm now completely addicted to Teleport.
I think its probably poor in the teens and early 20s but I got it in my level 25 respec and its great. You zip around the place once you bind shift+lclick to it.
It can be annoying in some missions and occasionally you plummet to your doom but they're the breaks.
And Xan, "You're wrong, end of discussion" is really the sort of comment that leads to a flame war which consumes the poor thread completely burning all common sense in its path.
Although I tend to agree. But not in such an abrupt way. Duff could have perfectly reasonable logic behind his preferences.
Discussion is good.
I both agree with xanthus and dont, accrobatic is a nice to have power, but NOT needed. In the controller build I have looked at and tried to make there are so many nice powers that I never seem to find room for it. But if you find enough powers to skip, I can recomend it.

I'm not sure I could afford to drop something for Acrobatics on my controller either. My blaster I left out 1 primary and 4 secondary powers, it would have been 5 but at that lvl there wasn't any other option other than starting another powerpool.
My controller is missing repel from secondary and that's it. By the time I could have found a place for Acro I no longer seemed to need it, I assume it was psi mastery that was helping. It really was so much harder building my controller.
So many fun powers to pick from in Illusion/kinetics.... tis a wonderful conundrum

Been a while since i asked for this Travel Power advice. Atm im lvl 22, and picked super speed at 14, cause Hasten seems unmissable. But, i absolutly miss my vertical movement! Its [censored]!
As ive heared from several kinetics players, its a good choice for us kinetics to pick Siphon Speed with Hover, and later on, Inertial Reduction. Now, im trying to get lvl 24, so i can respec to Siphon Speed and Hover. Is this really good and comparable to Fly? Or would it be a wrong choice? And is Hasten no longer necessary then?
Edit: alright then

lol.. [censored] gets censored.. thats new to me.

Yeah, you might want to edit that and remove yourself bypassing the swearfilter. Thats kinda against the rules.
... is it a bad word then? Ive always used it to express something as negative, with decent word. Guess its not then

Why go all the way into the Jumping pool when you can just get Hover for the knockback protection? Acrobatic's hold protection is so incredibly low as I understand it, it never saved me from holds when I (stupidly) had it as a power choice.

I use Siphon Speed and ordinary run for most of my travelling these days. I still have fly though for when my first siphon misses and I want to get moving. The only time I use hover when I've siphoned speed is on mission maps for a very controllable and speedy way of getting around.
I still have hasten on my controller and can usually have 2 to 3 siphon speeds up at all times. My powers come up stupidly fast at times so it's possible I could survive quite well without hasten. Then again, there have been a lot of occasions where my phantom army recharges just in time for me to throw it out there for a last gasp defence so I might not survive quite well without hasten I'd put it down to individual choice and playing style really

Still, is hover + siphon speed a good combo and fairly equal to Fly?
I don't think you can get it as fast as fly so I wouldn't like to use it over long distances

Thats the kind of feedback i needed! Thanks alot! Didnt know Siphon Speed really speeded up recharges btw. So far ive only picked Repel and the Siphon heal. Repel is not any good, so thats going byebye also.
Yeah, I picked up repel too in my last respec for use in PvP and since then I've hardly PvP'ed at all. I very rarely use it in missions so I reckon I'll be saying goodbye to it too whenever I respec again

Hey, im a illu/kin controller, and i cant make a choice in the travel power im gonna pick at 14. Kinetic has the speed and jump powerups, but im not sure if they can replace Super Speed or Leaping. Any tips about what the best travel power for a controller of my type is? And what i should or should not consider?
Thanks in advance!
