I'll be getting it for 2 reasons:
1) Ability to pull from a distance(ish)
2) Pulling aggro of teammates.........not very villainous but hey, i'm the brute who cares 
BTW....surely we don't 'arrest' people in cov? 
Forget pulling aggro off team mates Taunt makes fury, more fury is good
am really sure that we jsut beat them to death, here's hoping anyway 
Just to be difficult I'm not going to pick up taunt for my Brute, but provoke, intimidate and scare as these seem much more villainous. Moooohahaha!

Yeah, and when Wyx decides to set everything in the room on fire, she's just arrested them. Honest. I mean no-one's ever actually proved anything dodgy is going on, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I wasn't planning on getting taunt on my brute. I wanted a brute for the damage potential not to tank with, and there are many other powers I want more. I had a tank once before and didn't really enjoy playing it much, it's not my thing, and I don't think she'll be tough enough anyway. I'm thinking of getting TP foe for those moments where I really want to get something's attention.
I consider Taunt a must with all my brutes. It has 3 purposes as far as I see;
a) Generates quick fury with fast recharge and little endurance use
b) Pulls mobs onto you so that you can gain fury faster
c) Pulls mobs off your team even if its just a few. (Very effective for stalkers in the team)
Taunt makes everyone attack you, which equals Fury.
Meaning you are a Tanker of sorts, but that's what I was going for anyway.
Anyone know if taunt counts as a click attack for purposes of fury buildup?

Since the description of the power even includes a mention of helping fury build up - I would say so - yes.

If so provoke may be a better power for building up fury by getting attention of more enemies as it is a group taunt.
Except Taunt is an instant build fury and taunts one person where as provoke would require them to try to hit you first, if I've got this right in my mind.

Yes, was mentioned by a Dev during Beta.
I for one am glad I took it. With the glut of Masterminds on Defiant, getting my Fury bar up to a decent level in the average team can be hard work.

Its the same as the Tanker version, targetted ranged aoe hitting the target and up to four others nearby.
Im sure I read it was single target only. If its a aoe I wont be getting it a brute is not a tank.

It's AoE. Get some Corruptor friends and you'll be OK.

As a dark/dark Brute i can told you that taunt is an ae around your target and a must have power for each brute. The fastest way to build fury. definitly!
You geht fury for each target you hit with taunt(depends on the ranking...lt and bosses give you more fury).

now you see I wasn't going to get it, cos I'm quite enjoying being a selfish 'I am not a tank' bugger and not worrying about my team mates (well... I try, but I do keep finding myself hitting mobs that are picking on my squishies)... but reading this has convinced me otherwise! 
Seen taunt on the Brute list of Primary Powers and was wondering whether any of you would be taking it. As a brute we need to arrest peeps to get our fury bar up but do not have enough HP for us to be true Tankers. So, Taunt, worth it or not. Lots of fury or very fast way to debt!
