The "9pm up Galaxy Guy's trouser leg" Thread
I have just been hanging around in Cap Au Diable and watching you lot roleplaying again.
Thoughts...
Seemed like more fun and more friendly than the usual GG thing. Perhaps the Villains are going to be more fun to play and - because they are more tongue-in-cheek - there may be less of the angst and "friction" that I saw in GG. Might make it a little more inclusive for a wider audience and a more casual RP-er.
/emote clap Silk Noir. Holding court well. Generating a nice environment for everyone to RP. And that whole sexy-lady-in-charge thing.
/emote slap Loco. Gah. What an annoying child! Who let him in. [lol. i like it... Goes off to make up a big mum-sey child abuser alt who can slap children IC.]
Purple turkey - time's been having thos "annoying child" thoughts since he invited himself on to her crusade against the ghost widow. Hell she hunted down the only other person she knew he knew and demanded why the child ws so bad mannered. She got threatened over that but not too long she met Rafe again and he conceeded he point about his manners.
It's the fault of that Robot named "mother" who's apparently never wrong.
The manners will be sorted sooner or later - rather sooner with persuasion and corection than later with a claw hammer, two ducks and a couple of bot flies.
Tonight:
TimeKeeper came along to the party but missed everything important.. she saw off the kid and had a brief chat with Shi (?) who quickly promised that the dark gods would catch up with her.. TK expressed that she would very much like that and Shi should tell them where to find her.
Shi then left leaving TK with a pirate (or offshore businessman) and they briefly discussed the company TK works for. He was pretty impressed on the company's age and hadn't a clue what PR was.
She got an invite to tomorrow's party but has a different party to go that night on work, being the public face of the Trinity and all..

or an enormous contest to see who can come up with the most sick/perverted/psycho character without getting banned.

Trust me, people tried it in CoH and that fad quickly died out.
I did see a "Dr Shipman" character last night...
Now that's just bloody awfull taste and need's changing sharpish like...
@FloatingFatMan
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Bad taste indeed. I was more upset by the toon I saw called something like SS General. Of course there are hundreds of nazi comic-book villains. But really...
was he a stalker? cause my pvp team last night encountered himseveral time - a stalker with fly and Superspeed... scarey stuff...
I've created a global RP channel called Union Roleplay CoV for OOC use. This should enable us to organise events easier, and spread the word to all interested parties more easily, as well as to talk ooc without breaking the flow of any ic Rp happening in local, etc.
Please refer to the Union CoV Global Chat Channels thread for more information
Thank you. Hope it comes in useful
Bump!
The Cruel General Skull and mentally instable Dr Spelimino just recently broke out of the Zig, any place been decided yet?
Hehe. I've only just encountered this thread. Took me a while to read it all.
So what has been decided on this matter? Because Issue 7 is here now, and you can skip tutorials. Throwaway alts'll be easy and plotlines can be loose.
That 'chum' island sounds ideal.. after a long day of organized crime, my thugs mastermind would love to relax on a 'secluded' beach.. especially in the company of like-minded folks (supervillains I mean).
Bump.
Indeed, what is the situation?

Thank you for your time.
Yes, RPing at GG does ignore the plot line and game design that tumbles from above, but I feel it's easier to side-step in CoH. Bypass CoH's tutorial and the game mechanics plonk you next to a superhero trainer and gives you a contact, but you don't have to go to the trainer or the contact. That's kinda the point I was making there...
I know that the Zig breakout etc. can be ignored should one so wish, but I was making specific reference to the idea put forward by Noir which did refer to these occurances, so I kinda thought the RP would probably be using these as a base from which to build on... I'm probably mistaken about that, but hey, c'est la vie.
It might indeed be a case that if you really want to RP you can put up with the irritation of the tutorial, could it not equally be that if you really want to RP, you can't be bothered having to do it every time? Different people have different opinions, you might fail to understand mine, but that doesn't make it any less relevant to me.
This veers far too close to turning into a debate on the "right" and "better" way to RP. Neither of these concepts exist, how one wishes to RP is personal preference. Mine does not involve doing the freakin' tutorial every time... That's just me. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean the possibility of RP in CoV, even GG-styley RP, is now dead and buried. By all means let the quest against the game mechanics continue!
