I took the message to be we will have a two hour outage on the current boards on Monday, and the new site won't be ready until Wednesday or Thursday. So, we won't have no forums for the full 72 hours, that's just the time it will take to set up the new boards.

Did I misunderstand the announcement? Thought the forums would go down at any time during the two hour period and not return for 72 hours? In other words, no forums for 3 days?

I read that as new forums by Thursday, probably Friday. These forums will be offline ~2 hours tomorrow morning.

So the UBB boards will not be accessible "during that time", i.e, the two hour window. The 72 hour work is mentioned after this, and only refers to the amount of time it will take for the new boards to be set up.
I'm expecting us to be back online with the old UBB boards after 9AM Pacific.

I actually liked her posts. I can't be the only one, I'm probably just the only one that admits it. Her posts were short and to the point and often had dry Brit humor. Or maybe that's humour.
I do not understand a lot about the move. Will we lose our epic threads like "In the beginning..." in the defender forums?

I don't believe so... part of the difficulty of the move was having to haul everyone's threads and private messages. I guess the knew ones will be more stable, though they seem to have limitations that these don't, so I'm not exactly sure how the new ones are an improvement, to be honest. No animated avatars is kind of lame, for one... I'm going to miss Acemace beating up Lord Recluse, for instance. Heh.

You can't be right based off of what was said. THEY POSTED INCORRECT INFORMATION. No forum user could have known better, thus none of them could be right or wrong other than the ability to actually read and understand what they *actually* posted. If anyone actually got the notion that these forums would be down for more than the STATED 2 hours, you are delusional.

So, we're losing the old message boards. Is this something to be excited about or what? I'm more confused than anything, as it's unclear from their official post if the boards will be down for two hours or three days... not to mention whether we should worry about our forum handle getting lost.
