Excellent AE missions for Solo Play.

I'm on at oddball times and a lot of times due to my AT or power choices I can't land teams. I know there's a search option in Ae in which I have used but can anyone recommend A solid AE mission that is possible for solo play? I have no preference on the duration just something that doesn't have 40 AV's packed in it lol.

There are quite a few, but I'll give you two.
Soloable, a bit silly and a mostly lowbie friendly.

"To Settle a Bet"

"Operation: Super-Wedgie" (first mission is against Crey, so if you can handle them, you're good for the rest of the arc.)

Blight (140423). The best arc in the entire MA system right now. It's pretty much a crime that it only has 68 votes as of this writing.

Check the Stories and Lore section, especially the reviews threads. Most reviewers play the arcs solo, and will comment if things are too difficult for a solo player.

I actually agree with this. I think Blight has left the most lasting impression of any arc I've played thus far.

I made sure both arcs in my signature are soloable, but "the Revenge of Hro'Dtohz" is much more so than "Hunting the Dark Dragon" since you get allies to help you nearly all the time. There are a lot of EBs and 2 AVs, but use the help you get wisely, and they're a piece of cake.

As of this time-stamp, I can't find this mission on AE. Has it been taken down? That's fast turnaround, if it's been removed.

Edit: Ha, silly MA newb here. Had restrictive search terms on it. Whoops.

Arc ID 140423

His other arc, Love is in the Error is fantastic as well, in a very different way.

I just searched for Blight and found it. So I don't know...

I have to say "thank you" for the arc because it's the one I tend to go to immediately on new alts I make. It's very easy for any lowbie, not too tedious, and gives good EXP and tickets for gearing up with DOs.

All of mine are soloable. I'm a bit too busy to list them all here so just search under @Lazarus to find them in MA.

Having just played Blight, I'm putting in a vote for that too. It's nothing short of a crime that you can't find that one on the arc listing here on the boards.

It's the only story arc in all of City of Heroes that I've actually been interested in getting to the end of, mainly because it throws you a curveball in nearly every single mission.

I didn't expect all this...this is nice! Thank you all for the heads up! Maybe others can use this topic as beginning reference.

The Stories and Lore section would probably be a better home for this thread, but I'll throw my own arc in my sig at you too.

It has an optional Extreme AV in the second mission you can totally skip, a very easy but insane third mission, and an EB you find in the dev content in the final mission.

It recently fell to 4 stars again, so it's time for me to start pimping it again.

I'll also suggest anything by @jjac and @Mu. They're some of my favorite authros so far. I am also fond of @6x's very silly "LOST DOG," but I think the last patch may have invalidated it until he gets a chance to fix it (it has destructible objects).

There's a "solo friendly" keyword you can search on:
<ul type="square">[*]Click SEARCH OPTIONS in the main AE arc window.[*]Click MORE[*]Click MATCH KEYWORDS[*]Click Solo Friendly[/list]While not all of these arcs are actually solo friendly (several contain archvillains and extreme archvillains), it does help you winnow the number of missions down.

The most important thing is to run on Heroic (Challenge Level 1) if you're having problems with AE missions being too tough. At this difficulty bosses are turned into LTs, Elite Bosses are turned into Bosses and AVs are turned into EBs.

If your character is even slightly studly, you can take down most EBs solo if you have a good supply of inspirations. Take a couple of purples before attacking and use others as necessary. Since the inspiration vendor is about 30 feet from the mission entry point in the AE building, it's really easy to leave an AE mission and get more inspirations if you run out.

This is all very, very true. I have some of mine tagged as "challenge," but I do my best to be sure that if you're running on Heroic most anyone can complete the required objectives. Now, if you crank it to Invincible and treat everything as a Defeat All (which NONE of my missions are), then it's going to put you through your paces.

I marked one of mine as Challenging and it has little to do with the AV at the end. It's because while anyone should be able to solo it with enough care the customs are designed to make you actually think about what you're doing and be aware of your surroundings rather than blindly mashing buttons on anything that moves.

Mine (In the link in my signature) are all designed for solo low level characters. The first 2 seem to succeed pretty well at that, the third I am still waiting on more feedback so see what does and doesn't need changed.

This needs to become 'Dev's Choice' right now. Fantastic!
