All that is scrapper.

Believe it or not, I actually knew that it was called a three section staff. I was just being colloquial for my homies as it were. Of course when you let it slip, that it's actually called a sanjiegun... well, I knew I was well and truly trumped. But as for calling a katana a knife. That's not a knife.

Some of my favorites that haven't been mentioned yet:

Despite the horrible-ness of the movie in general, I'm a sucker for Neo's MA/WP in the Burly Brawl . 2:45 is where the action starts.

Another favorite is Yoda's flawless Kat/SR AV-soloing rendition shown here . the saber duel starts at 1:30.

Another good Kat/SR scene is Uma Thurman's fight in Kill bill vs. The Crazy 88 . Actually, there's a ton of scenes from these two movies I could choose, but this is one of my favorites.

There's tons of others I could list, like the final fight scene from V for Vendetta, The BS/SD duel between achilles and hector from troy, or the fight between maximus and commodus in gladiator, but I'll stop there for now.

When Yoda drew his lightsaber in that scene, was the only time in my life I have ever seen an entire theater full of people cheer and applaud during a film.

If you've seen Brotherhood of the Wolf, the part at the end when De Fronsac raids the cult hideout is flat out mean. He is fighting with anger and attitude. Dani vs the crowd was great too. All in all a fine movie.

The Jet Li against the school from Fist of Legend was great too.

Edit : while I was looking on youtube I see the classroom scene was mentioned, excellent taste

Particularly the restaurant sequence.

I'm also partial to the Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris fight.

How is it I see Jeff Speakman but no Cynthia Rothrock?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6ePf...atch-main-area

And from her wikipedia entry,

She is five-time (and undefeated) World Karate Champion in forms and weapons between 1981 and 1985. These categories are not combat-oriented, being displays of fluidity of movement rather than fighting, and are therefore not segregated into male and female categories but fully open to both sexes.
She holds five Black belts in various Far Eastern martial disciplines, including Tang Soo Do (also "tangsudo", Korean), Tae Kwon Do (Korean), Eagle Claw (Chinese), Wu Shu (contemporary Chinese), and Northern Shaolin (classical Chinese). She received her sixth degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan in 2006 and was tested by Grand Master Robert Kovaleski, 7th Dan and chair of the I.T.M.A. She also works as a martial arts instructor and her favorite weapons are the hook swords.[1] 羅芙洛
[edit]Film career

Northern California was her home in 1983 where she worked with the West Coast Demonstration Team. At this time Golden Harvest was searching in Los Angeles for the next Bruce Lee. Rothrock's forms and maneuvers were observed and Golden Harvest signed a contract with her. It was two years (1985) later that she made her first martial arts movie for them, Yes, Madam (also known as Police Assassins or In the Line of Duty Part 2) which also starred Michelle Yeoh. It proved to be a box office success. She ended up staying in Hong Kong until 1988 doing seven films there. She may be the first Caucasian actress that ever had a lead role in a Chinese film as a heroine. At the time, the typical role for Caucasians was cast as either as a villain or as comic relief.
Rothrock became one of the few Caucasian performers to achieve genuine stardom in the local Hong Kong film industry before achieving success in their own country. Producer Pierre David initiated Rothrock's move to the American turf. David offered her a costarring role with Chad McQueen in Martial Law, Rothrock's first U.S. production. For the next ten years she led a successful career in B-grade action movies. Her films include China O'Brien and China O'Brien 2, Guardian Angel, Honor & Glory, No Retreat, No Surrender 2 and Prince of the Sun amongst a roster of thirty films.
Rothrock also appeared as Bertha Jo in the 1997 television film The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion. She was an inspiration for the video game characters Sonya Blade[2] of Mortal Kombat and lent her voice on the animated series Eek the Cat.
Rothrock's stated that, "throughout my life, I've been opening the door for other women to get involved with this (martial arts movies). I was the first woman to be on the cover of a karate magazine and the first woman to win a men's championship."

Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?

Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?

Also:

Riddick - Chronicles of Riddick. One step, one kill sequence on Crematoria.

Alucard - Hellsing original video anime. Any scene. With glove, gun, or powers, he kicks [censored]. Heck, he doesn't even have to fight to show how scrappy he is.

Mystique - X-2. Her Alkalide Base invasion sequence was super slick.

Night Crawler - X-2. The White House fight scene. Who didn't want combat teleport implemented after that?

Ultra Violet-

When she makes her descent on the compound in the end of the movie and hacks thousands of men to bloody chunks.

I love it when she enters the security checkpoint, walks onto the weapons detector and the computer scans her and says:
"Number of weapons found... MANY!"

Ah, yeah. It DID have a lot of fun scrapping.

It's a shame that “Ultraviolet is the Worst Movie Ever Made”.

They Live: 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper vs. Keith David

Best fight scene ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yup. That's how I view scrappers.

[/ QUOTE ]

I hate to say this because i love this movie so much. These are two tankers duking it out.

it last almost 6 minutes. and they take it and become best friends. If a scrapper fights for 6 mins, they aint leaving till the other guy is dead.

there is no scrapper lock, just a bunch of taunts and haymakers.

after the first two punches, they waited for the other person to be "Ready!", does that sound like a Scrapper? No, there was clearly more than 7 seconds...

great moment, but this is for tankers.

This is the only i disagreed with.

Well, one of my all time favorite fight scenes comes from Jackie Chan's [u]Who Am I[u]. Not a great movie but the Rooftop fight sequence is one of the best I've ever scene.

In the same vein, Jet Li did some amazing work in [u]Kiss of the Dragon[u]. In this best scenes montage we see some unusual techniques including my all time favorite "clothe iron melee". Scrimmage sticks scene rocks as well.

For all out scrapper attitude, it's hard to top Blade vs Nomak (WARNING: Gory scene). Great combonination of martial art skill and all out rage.

I rarely see folks talk about [u]Chocolate[u]. For those who've never scene it, the premise is an autistic girl who learns martial arts by watching too much bad television. The actual plot is more complex but fight scenes are some of the best I've scene.

SI Radio has many DJs and listeners whom hold City of Heroes close to their hearts. We will be supporting many efforts to keep CoH ALIVE!!

I really do hope that some of the alternate Martial Arts moves are Muay Thai inspired attacks. I really want a simple, devastating knee strike.
