Super Strength alternate animations

Read. It says "alternate animation".

Not plural. So there's a swap out for Hand Clap, but that's it.



Seriously, it's a start. I'd rather at least three for each punching attack, and the ability for it to randomize (sometimes it uses the old animation, sometimes the new).

But it makes me wonder if they did anything for Hurl, and if they just copied Hurl Boulder from stone melee or added the random Propel object code to it.

It reads: "...each will receive an alternate animation for their powers." To me, that sounds like one alternate animation for each power, excluding maybe Taunt.

Yes, Hurl looks like the most likely animation change to me as well.

What makes me wonder if it got the Propel treatment is that BaBs said he was in there already when people asked him about the /e alakazamreact changes. He said he was mucking around in the files already so it wasn't a big deal to do.

Now, Propel itself isn't a big candidate for customization, so why was he in the files for it?

Perhaps to copy the effects for an alternate Hurl. Maybe. We'll see.

Martial arts get ONE alternative....
Super Strenght gets ONE alternative...

People been wanting to punch with scrappers for a long time.
People been wanting to be sleeker with tankers for a long time.

Result: Super Strength gets to use Martial Arts animations and Martial Arts gets to use Super Strength Animations

Just as long as I can make Punch look like an actual punch and not a weapon attack animation with the weapon removed, I'll be happy.

They're adding new animations...they're not changing anything.

Punch uses the same animation that certain powers in Mace, Axe, and Broadsword use. Only difference is that you're not holding a weapon, so it instead looks like this awkward, one-handed smash.

That's true. What I really should say is it could be great or nothing depending on the details.

I'm just in the "I hate KO blow animation camp" and the thought of having the option to improve it is just so cool, that the thought of the alternative being something I like less, just makes me sad.

But wow, I made like 400 assumptions there so I'll just need to sit back and "wait and see". Overall, I'm pretty excited about this.

I know...what I'm saying is that I thought SS was here first. I thought that the weapon sets took that animation from SS, not the other way around.

Or those weapon waves look like acquired inertia-less swings. I personally think most of the weapon attacks are the ones looking awkward.

I'd probably be rather conservative in making any changes, given that I've been using the same ones for four and a half years now. I may change Haymaker, in order to get rid of the redundancy with Air Superiority.

On the other hand, this might rekindle interest in my ill/emp controller. I do so want to make my Phantasm and Phantoms pink. And tiny. With bunny ears.

It opens the door for alternates across the spectrum of powers, given the time.
Double handed overhead Shatter attack, is all I ask for.

Playing with the same animations for so long is the sole reason that I'm going to try out the new ones.
