Clicking BM contact bombs out CoX
Having the same problem here. Seems that the first hero or villain you login gets borked. Everyone else is fine.

Note to self: create throwaway alt and login with that first when I get home this afternoon.

This does sound bad. Has anyone logged in and NOT had the consignment house break for that character? (It could also be that certain items are not working right, or items in a certain state.)
I know that my character that crashes is the only one that I have that tossed a bid out on a piece of GR salvage. I wonder if that is what is hanging that character by chance.
Just trying to think of things that may be different about this one over all my others.

Me...it won't crash me...but HANGS something aweful. First alt logged in to access the BM/WW. Second alt is fine, no hang at all.
Remember, there is a TON of info coming in to ones PC (I know you know this, Zloth, just restating) first time some accesses (sp?) the WW/BM.
Just saying.

Why would the devs include this emote?
/ok, sorry, I'll be moving along now.
August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.

Why not? We got /em teabag
And have you ever watched a Fire Blaster getting ready to Inferno? Talk about someone looking constipated.....
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.

There is a pattern then.
I'd guess they pulled the salvage from the available list, didn't clear the associated bids, and as the data flows there is a mis-match and boom.
Kicking this into my bug report.
oh, and I can't remember who on their end is the front person for this... hmmmm

Just adding my name to those affected by this. In a moment of shortsightedness, it never dawned on me that they might remove the salvage from the game, thereby screwing things up.

Same.
I passed our recognized pattern on up the chain with my bug report. If you anyone affected by this hasn't /bugged it, I recommend you do so. I for one do not want to wait until GR releases to get one of my favorite characters back.
I may not have done right the first time.
Let's try something different...

A few weeks agao some Going Rogue salvage was accidentally revealed in BM/WW. Several bids were placed on the items, with an eye to early grabs and/or on a lark. I fell into the latter category - dropping a single bid on one salvage type on one character.
That character can no longer access the Black Market - crashing out completely because the salvage has been removed, but the associated bid still exists and since it can't find a match for the bit item.... boom.
Anyway, I know others had similar bids out there. Some of you (from the discussion above) have similarly discovered this. Others, may not have logged on to a given alt and not encountered this.
Long story short I got confirmation today via email:

This is a known issue. At this time we do not have a means of removing these bids. The Development Team is currently working on a resolution for this issue. Once a fix has been completed and tested, it will be made available in a future patch to the live servers.

FYI, I have never received feedback from support on this since I filed with them.
But I tried it with my affected character, just in blind hope, and it works fine again.
If anyone is waiting on their characters still, go ahead and try it. I think it may be cleared up.
I've had this happen a couple times on various characters myself. My blaster went to use WW and the game crashed (pre-i16.) Then about 2 days after i16 it happened again, but not on the first character I logged in with. Then it happened a third time about late last week. So three times for me it's happened. I have been trying to duplicate the circumstances, but no luck on trying to break the game again so we can make it a positive issue.
Intermittent bugs suck.
This problem isn't new. I've had about a 50% chance of mapservering and dropping to the login screen with every black market visit since the damn thing was introduced. Usually, after I get a successful load, any future visits during that play session are ok too. This last issue has bumped that chance from 50% to more like 80% though, and I'm just vendoring most of my crap.

Oh well maybe my issue is different because my game doesn't mapserve. It utterly crashes and I have to let the CoX updater check files for errors or whatever it does. I always submit that little report thingy that comes up when it crashes due to that so...

Yesterday my lead vill was BMing just fine. After today's patch any time that one character clicks on a BM contact, the game freezes and crashes out with log window.
So far, every other hero or villain I take to BM or WW work fine.
I tried zoning and approaching BM in another zone. No help.
I /bugged it, but thought I'd toss it out for others to be mindful about.
