Super Booster III Superscience Back On Test

/facepalm

Those are not true costume changes, it's a temp power just like the Halloween costumes that get dropped, or my Harlequin costume, it's a 'static' model.

It's been explained before, in much more detail than I can com up with at the moment, but I'm sure someone will be along with a more concise explanation.

Quick Question...I was running the Midnight Draws Near Arc from Darren Wade and for fun I used the Visage power on my short female into the tallish male Midnighter...It seems to work fine in live when it comes to that respect?

It used the Smoke CC Emote from the magic pack and it changes the sex perfectly fine and the size scales...am I missing something?

Why is it not on live yet if that bit of programing code works?

[/ QUOTE ]

That's something different, the Midnighter disguise works like the halloween temp costume powers and is a model replacement (the underlying character is still the same, get held with your halloween costume on and it supresses).

The super tailors don't just switch models, they completely change your model base (male, female or huge).

Yes I was in SG mode when the glitch happened.

[/ QUOTE ]

Okay, then it's the same bug that Castle saw when the booster was up for testing the first time. It happened to a player, the devs copied his corrupted character's data to a local drive at Paragon Studios, and I can only assume that they've been working on it since. It only affects players in SG mode, and can be corrected by logging.

Super Science change in model, temp Halloween costume powers, Darren Wade's 'Visage' power, the Heal-the-Lost Wand, and the transformation of Romulus in the ITF are all the same technology that Dr. Mechano mentions. The old model is completely removed and a new model is swapped into it's place.

When it's buggy, you can see the two models at the same time, or you can see the first model leave a teleport-away streak.

Other costume changes, OTOH, where the base model is the same, you then keep the model and the clothing pieces swap out.

Powers and costumes have long been different items.

Even in Wow.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Went to check it out.

"Online Store Unavailable"

Someone call me when it is up.

Hi Red. I did. I got a pop-up saying that it was not available. Just now on Test. Did it three times. This is the Training Room thread, right?

Well, Niv's announcement DID say that it was going to be on the Test Server on Thursday.

Any particular tailor we need to see? I'm seeing no options at the tailor that would indicate I can change heights, gender, etc.

EDIT: Nevermind, found the Cosmetic Surgeon.

Thanks. I guess I thought that we still had to go there to get it applied to my account. My mistake. It's just at the tailor for everyone. I got that now. Still tired.

Along with not seeing any animations at the Cosmetic Surgeon, drawing my sword or shield seems to put me in a stationary battle stance.

Something else that I'm seeing that I haven't seen mentioned is as follows.

My characters normal body type is the regular Male body type, with the sliders pretty much set to the middle. Playing around with the gender changes I used the Female body type and saw that if I choose the Targe shield, as soon as I select the shield the "avatar" section of the screen flickers rapidly between my character standing straight up and in a battle crouch. It can look rather amusing from some angles if you set the Targe to have Long Spikes.

I don't see this flickering on any other shield choice. I decided to go to a regular Icon employee, chose the same costume slot (without having saved the changes earlier) and did not get this flickering when selecting the Targe shield.

If I instead select the Huge model, I don't get the same flickering between stances with the Targe selected. I didn't see any anomalies with any shields aside from one I'll get to shortly that is shared with the change to Female.

Using the Cosmetic Surgeon, I selected my normal Male body type and left the sliders alone. No anomalies of any kind aside from the lack of animations that have been reported previously by others.

I used backed up and changed the normal Male to the maximum height and looked at the different shields, then did the same with the normal Male set to the minimum height.
I found no anomalies aside from the previously reported lack of animations.

Now, for the one thing I noticed when I changed to the Huge and the Female models, still in the Super Tailor screens. On ALL shields, there is a slight constant wobble of the shield. This "may" be related to the Targe issue on the Female body type, but much less pronounced. When using my normal Male body type there is no wobble of the shields whether I change height or not, so it is apparently "something" related to the body type change, not just a Super Tailor related issue.

If you need any more details, just ask.

I have a quick question about this height slider change. Does that mean that height is now being stored as part of the costume? That would be a boon for more than just the booster pack. It's annoying trying to guess how tall your character is when recreating him in the AE. Or when Trying to create twins for a leveling pact with a friend

[/ QUOTE ]The height is always recorded but previously only the Costume Creator screen was allowed to affect it. When I tested it on my male character I loaded his female equivalent saved previously and she was the right height.

I wonder if this would be a good time to address the "crab spider build's legs showing up on the bane build" issue?

[Cloaks and dives into the back of a truck...]

[peeps back in just long enough to say...]

I mentioned it because I found that the Halloween costumes mask the spider legs, however the energy blasts overhead just happen out of thin air in that case.

Is this pack ever going to go live within the next few decades?

Seriously have you read any of the posts in this thread?

I want the booster to go live as much as the next guy, but with all these bugs they're better off working it out on the test server instead of having to try and patch it after it's gone live.

In reality this is the biggest booster to date and adds something the game never had to deal with before so it's gonna take a little longer to work out.

Trust me, I was right here complaining to a week ago then I got on the test server and read the forums and seen that it really would be a bad idea to release it this soon.

So If I go save my character at the costume store and then go over to the AE and load up my costume then the Height will be correct even if I don't buy the booster pack? Up to this point it wasn't

Would this be the thread to talk about Science Booster bugs in live? Can't seem to find any other applicable thread other than the main one on the main game forum.

[/ QUOTE ]The hell are you smoking, good sir? And where can I get some.

...I don't normally smoke, but if it gets the booster on live quicker, I'll try it.

You mean this Science Booster? Which was announced here. A little more research would have gone a long way in making you look less like a jerk.
