Why do you need a second graphics card? I'm only using one.

That's what one of those looks like? I just thought it was a small, wet, and upset-looking owl.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
Current desktop.
I really wish I remember where I got the wallpaper, though. I've had it for nine years, at least.
My wife has a bunch of pictures like this.
Incidentally, I love Nightwish.
I'd show mine, but I don't know how.
Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?
Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?
Mine... showing off the sketch I just finished for Teri-Minx of DA fame. Apologies, it (my desktop) is not usually NSFW. I'd show you the second screen of my set up, but the other one is identical without folders.
Wow. Huge tracts of land there. And baby got some back, eh?
Well I bit a Frazetta poster for the pose, so don't blame me, Frank wasn't into skinny wimmens...

If you put in a second card, you end up with an SLI setup, which could make things worse. While I do use an 8800GT at home, my work computer is a Dell Latitude e5400 and that video card is pretty weak. (I think it's actually an onboard video card) I can still dual monitor at work though.
Curious? Why would an SLI setup be worse?
You don't necessarily end up with an SLI setup (unless you tell it to be an SLI setup).
I keep going back and forth on if I should post my desktop and if I do...will I need to 2 click rule it... Hrmm...
I had issues with playing some computer games when I had an SLI setup (twin 7600GTs). Could've been driver issues and what not. I knew of some others that did too. Generally, I've found it to be a pain in the butt to work with and not worth the effort. Some benchmarks found that adding a second video card generally adds on an additional 33% of video processing power. I ended up just buying a higher end card for roughly the same costs and it's been less of a hassle, but more faster than my 2 card set up.

Ah. I was worried my own had some default I hadn't heard about... But they can triple buffer this, WoW, and LOTR pretty well, haven't had any complaints. Not to mention the improvement to running Adobe software...
I'd love to have one of those disgusting G5 power Macs, with 4 cards, and 6 drives, and crazy 16GB memory. Just to see...
Lord. How much do those run for? I paid about...1800 for my system 3 years ago.
I've uh configured one for just under $18 K, I believe, or was that an Alienware one... okay, enough threadjacking...
Here is my super desktop!
