Extreme versus Superior Damage

So I started to work on my Kheld PB and picked up two powers, Radiant Strike which has Superior Damage and Incandescent Strike which has Extreme Damage. This got me thinking. When powers are labeled as Superior vs Extreme, which is actually more powerful? When I think of something as being Superior I would think it is the most powerful. On the other hand, Extreme brings about a potent punch when mentioned. How do we tell? My guess is that Extreme beats out Superior but not sure?

The dictionary definition of Superior is: higher in rank, status or quality, greater in size or power. The definition of Extreme is: reaching a high or the highest degree, very great. So, how do we tell which is more powerful? I am sure there is a scale that compares two powers and can break it down better. I do have Mid's Hero so maybe I'll just punch that in and see what numbers come up. Then I will hopefully know which is more powerful. Any other thoughts or suggestions out there?

Use the in game numbers, the short text descriptions were written by multiple people over time and are at best a guideline.

I think it goes Minor, Low, Medium, High, Superior, Extreme

And to be honest, I think you answered your own question:

Looks like extreme wins that one.

Superior is comparativer, but Extreme is superlativest.

That used to drive me insane when trying to pick a power.

Like "slightly increasing" something.

Like slow recharge vs. long recharge.

Glad they gave us the real numbers!!!

The power descriptions are full of inconsistencies. For instance, powers with the same recharge time will use different descriptions.

Voltaic Sentinel (60 sec) Recharge: Very Long
Power Boost (60 sec) Recharge: Long

Total Focus (20 sec) Recharge: Long
Stun (20 sec) Recharge: Slow

I basically ignore the token descriptions and use "Show Detailed Info" when picking new powers.

Uhm....you can check that in-game you know....with the "more info" drop downs at the top of every powers column..

Incandescent Strike is essentially Total Focus. Radiant Strike actually does more damage than I thought it did, I was thinking something like Bonesmasher or Stone Mallet, but instead it's more like Greater Ice Sword. (Which amusingly enough is listed as "High" damage. So there you go)

Technical explanation: Incandescent Strike has a DS of 3.56, Radiant Strike 1.96. That's pretty much average for "Extreme" and "High". (Superior goes up to about 2.28, Extreme starts at 2.76, the standard for Sniper attacks. However, you will often see "High" on attacks with as much as 2.12 DS. 1.96 might be the dividing line between High and Superior)

Personally, I consider it more of a comparison within the Power Set. One set's High may do more damage than another set's High, but it'll do less than the same set's Superior.

I think whatever damage Sniper shots fall into (extreme?) is the highest.
