Kinetic Crash
It'll work with just the slotted enhances, but I wouldn't recommend this. You need 4 enhances for the -kb bonus. If you're muling 4 enhances and expending 3 slots for some kb points, that's just not worth it. I would highly recommend just spending the 25-35M for a Zephyr -kb and stick it in a travel power.

For the knockback protection IO, if I pick up, say, kick from the fighting pool, and slot Kinetic Crash into the(just the -kb one), do I need to actually use kick in order to get the protection, or do I just always have the knockback protection once the enhancement is slotted?

Kinetic Crash does not have a KB Protection enhancement.
It gives KB Protection for slotting 4 out of 6 of the set into the same power. Which as the other poster mentioned is not worth while.

I've slotted for the Kb protection, but only because the power I was slotting was going to have 4+ slots anyway. Also, at the time I couldn't afford a KB prot IO.

[/ QUOTE ]I disagree. mag 3 protection will protect you from all knockdown, and even most knockback. It won't protect you from everything, but it will protect you from a lot, and it's cheap

I don't think they're saying that mag 3 KB protect isn't worthwhile. I think they're saying that spending 3 slots on a power that you don't plan on using isn't worthwhile. And I agree.
Now, if you plan on using Kick, and want things to go flying across the room on the rare chance that the KB in the power triggers, go right ahead.
But I think there's better ways to use your slots.
@Roderick
Getting 4 Kinetic Crashes is around $250K or cheaper, getting a -KB IO is like 3 million. It depends on where you are money wise.
And if you're going to slot 4 IO's why not go for all six and get 6% regen and the 7.5 recharge bonus? Then you save mucho inf over a steadfast or karma -KB IO and a LoTG +recharge IO.
We don' need no stinkin' signatures!
hers an idea evey1 play how they want. if we all cloned are toons we'ed be wow or some other lame mmo

Agree. Adding 2 more slots for all of that is far less expensive if you've the slots to spare.
My fire/mace tank has 3 powers fully slotted with KC. The kb is amazing, which coming from a tank gives me chuckles, and it has more than it's share of fun moments. He also has 2 Steadfast -kb (1 in Temp. Prot. and 1 in Tough).
Getting 3 full sets of KC was much, much cheaper than getting a single IO for -kb or a LotG.
Although, if you go this route be prepared for the insane amount of kb you will deliver so positioning is key if you don't want to get lambasted by your team. My tanker could care less since he dropped Burn.
