Ss/Fire is great and easy to build. I also Run a DM/fire with massive Global recharge 150, I get Soul Drain pretty close to perma and w/ Fiery Embrace....its pretty wickid. So with about 50mil in my SS/fire and a couple Billion in my Dm/Fire. Well its damn close on the ae, and single target my Dm/fire owns my SS/fire.
pvers can also farm the wall, or has that fallen out of fashion these days?
Anyway, I say SS/shield but, maybe only because that's what I play. It makes quicker, neater work of groups than fire aura seems to, and I can just alternate footstomp/ball lightning with shield charge as I move from group to group.

I hate to say it but Footstomp is that good.
With the faster recharge in Foot Stomp, I'd say ss/shield, but elec/shield is a lot of fun

SS is that good. But after about 4 SS toons, including SS/WP Brute and WP/SS tank, I had to go with the unique Brute combo of Elec/SD.
For pure mob-crushing fun, SS/SD might be a nice compromise vs. SS/Fire.

youknow that fire sword circle has higher base dmg, the same recharge and is achieved sooner than foostomp?
it may potentially be better than footstomp in the long run due to the fire dmg component. this may be worth testing.
Fire Sword Circle would be better than Foot Stomp for pure damage, if not for the fact that Foot Stomp's radius is significantly larger than that of FSC.
Even still, FSC doesn't have the knockdown.

FSC does not get rage. So you have FSC and Elec fences and ball lightning without rage or Footstomp, elec fences and ball lightning with rage. SS wins.

In pve your choices for farming are pretty much nemesis and nothing else. Vengeance and shields is not a really sweet combo. In ae while yes you can make lots of fire throwing baddies for your fire brute a saturated aao with soft capped defenses is easily more survivable while throwing out really high damage. Just my two cents though your own mileage may vary.
