Well... I may be a little biased on the topic (observe the sig), but honestly, I think you should turn your speaker's volume down way low and go with the /Sonic 
Of course, if ya just really really really don't wanna, then I think it may come down to how you're going to play. Personally, I'd go with Rad/Dark, combining the -tohit from both with the -def from Rad and allowing you both safety and effectiveness either solo or teamed, especially if you take Dark for your Epic pool in addition. Also, the Tentacles will be great for keeping enemies next to your Rad anchor.

Well yeah, but he didn't give Dark as an option for a primary. If he did, I'd definitely be saying to fire up a D3.
Dark/Rad I hear is awesome.
Dark Miasma has -tohit, -res and -damage, while the attacks in radiation blast have a -def to their secondary. For, say...An AV fight, you could set up darkest night, plant a tar patch right under the AV, run right up and irradate (spelling) them, since it has I believe the highest -def value in rad, and now they have crap tohit, bad resistance, their damage is lowered, AND they have less defense.

As would all right-thinking folk...best AT in the game.
That said, while the D3 remains my favorite, I'm really enjoying my Rad/Sonic lowbie. The sounds are pretty annoying, but I just turn down the volume a bit and bear with it. Rad/Dark should be good, too..but I've never tried that combo.

I already have a Kin troller so for my defender I want to try Rad my only problem is I don't know what secondary to take I pretty much narrowed it down to Dark or Rad not sure which one. Would -def for Rad/Rad really stack up is it worth it? Or is Rad primary a great debuff where I can throw in Dark for the -Tohit. Also I read Rad/Sonic is great but I don't think my ears can take the screeching sound plus I think it looks and sounds weird lol. Thanks for your suggestions
