practice, practice and more practice, you have to devote alot of time to self improvement some people are more artistically minded then others but I believe everyone has the ability to draw well if they put there mind to it

see the issue is i have dumb hands they just can't draw things. I know and i really don't care but it some times makes me mad when i get a great idea in my head and i can't put it on paper, it turns in two two blobs or stick figures

I've been tracing things to get my fingers to start to get the idea again. No doubt though, I'm a much better artist behind a camera than I am holding a pencil.

=P Art is art, just keep practicing and try to have alittle pride and a ton of confidence in your own work and you will do just great.

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

*ehem* "practice makes perfect" has substance to it. like any other talent, art takes a lot of time and work. also, not everyone is good at drawing, maybe think about trying photography or something. not sure what else to say.....

Honestly learning the media is very important too.

Right now, all my coloring is done on Paint Shop Pro with a mouse. I don't have a working Tablet at this time and I was never very good with it when I did have one.

My unicorn's line art was done with the line tools over a reference photo. Obviously I added to it to produce the hooves and whatnot. But the point is, I hadn't started using the line tool until very recently - nor layers, nor many, many filter effects, or even different types of brushes.

As I've learned more about how to use the program, imho, my own art has gotten much better.

Inking practice as well as pencilling both can be made easy if you use a light-box or even just thin paper for tracing work. Or, print out a line image in light blue on heavier paper, and ink over that.

Repetitive tasks like copying images are extremely important to just get your hands doing certain things. Of course, you want to make them do *the right things* so practicing holding the tools correctly so you aren't in pain, as well as making sure that you aren't falling into bad habits, is also something to watch for.

Anyone CAN draw. Some folks have to work at it harder than others, and some find other ways of really shining - coloring, digital inks, model painting, sculpting, photography.

nobody was born being really good...it takes a while and a lot of practices...as Zekiran said, some people have it easier but with some work you still can get to some grade of good work if you really want it...
i started to draw for fun, still do, but i indeed learned a lot from watching pictures from other artists, reading tutorials, experimenting etc...
more you draw the better you become..maybe sometimes slowly but with the time you will notice the difference...

HA heheh HA! HA! heheheh HA! (tears of laughter)

But seriously - it takes some time, effort, and [u]patience[u].

Sure, for some it takes less than others, but NOBODY is born automatically über-skilled - even Leonardo had to spend some time practicing and was apprenticed to Verrocchio.

I had a friend who said he really wanted to draw manga, so he bought this book on beginning manga drawing. LESS than a week later, he'd given up trying "I got tired of drawing circles, circles, and more circles.." He never got past the first chapter. His desire to draw was just not sufficient enough to carry him through the work required to get there.

Unless you are severely handicapped, pretty much anybody can learn to "do art" - but it takes time, effort, patience - and, I guess, desire.
