How do I go about getting this particular item for my sg? I've seen it in several larger bases and was interested in having one myself . . .

Strange. When I click on the screenshot nothing happens.

It's a picture of a large ceiling-mounted decoration that seems to have the sun and planets in it.

It's working for me. Hmph. Well, if you've ever been in a large arcane base there almost always seems to be this large "planetary" object in the ceiling that spins and turns. ery curious as to what it is, does, and how to get one.

Arcane Control item.

High cost, high amount of control generated. My link to Paragonwiki explains it.

that is the arcane control unit. just turned upside down. you have to play wit hfloor tiles and stuff to get it that way. not sure how to do it myself, but i have seen other things done like this since i13 came out.

Just build a large enough control items to feed your current (and near future needs). You can always sell/swap later for full Prestige cost.
Luckily, used base items don't depreciate over time.

That's not working for me either. I think I know what the problem is tho. I just installed a new Zone Alarm and I'm running a deep scan for viruses and spyware. I may have to adjust my settings once that is finished.

No, I'm afraid Aggelakis is correct. There are three tiers of Tech control items (not counting the Oversight). Those are Mainframe (which is available by default), Supercomputer (badge unlocked) and the Autonomous Expert System (badge unlocked, ceiling mounted).

Likewise, there are three tiers of Arcane control items and they have the same unlock requirements. The Orbits of Control, like the Supercomputer, sits on the floor and is unlocked by the SG sidekicking badge. The Mystic Orrery, like the AES, is unlocked by the SG damage-dealt badge and is ceiling mounted.

The item pictured is not upside down. It is a ceiling mounted item. At a guess, people are getting the Mystic Orrery confused with the Orbits of Control.

[/ QUOTE ] I have it on my ceiling as well. That's where it goes automatically.

Wrong. The third tier control item mounts on the ceiling. Furthermore, the other two control items look COMPLETELY different.

the thing that was throwing me off was the missing pillar. i knew it was a control item so i was half right. don't go jumping all over me like i was completely wrong. it has been a while since i have done any base editing so these thigns aren't fresh in my head.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes it's a control item, and you were right there, but you were trying to say it was come kind of trickery to get it on the ceiling. You were corrected and if you had left it alone at that point, it wouldn't have been a big deal. You then referred to somebody else who posted a link to the item (that shows it placed correctly on the ceiling) and were WRONG when you tried to re-corrected them again to say it was just some kind of trickery.

I'm not trying to jump on you, just keeping the facts straight. It IS an arcane control item, and it DOES hang from the ceiling, but it's not upside down. It belongs there. It's no trick.

Your initial post wasn't a big deal. It was when you wrongly corrected someone who was actually right. That's when you became "completely wrong".
